Sheridan, Wyoming is a town located in Laramie County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Laramie County and home to the Sheridan Airport. The first guns were brought overland from Illinois in 1876 and were used by Native Americans for hunting buffalo. In 1907, the Sheridan Rifle Club was formed and began manufacturing rifles in the town. The Sheridan Pistol Club was also founded in 1907. In 1915, World War I started and many soldiers from Sheridan enlisted in the military to fight in that war. Many of these men died as a result of battle or disease contracted during the war. After World War I ended, many of the soldiers returned home and their townsfolk decided to start businesses in their former barracks barracks vacated by the military. In 1919, it was announced that a new airport would be built in Sheridan so local farmers could bring planes into town for aerial photography purposes which later led to commercial aviation being established here as well. The first jet engine was installed at this airport on September 17th 1947 making it one of only two airports worldwide with those types of engines at that time! Today, Sheridan is an important transportation hub for Laramie County with its location near both Interstate 80 and US Highway 89A making it easy to get around without leaving your home!

The primary attraction of Sheridan is its natural beauty: rolling hills covered in wildflowers and trees, wide open spaces that allow hunting or fishing opportunities, numerous lakes Erie County provides excellent swimming and boating capabilities (especially during summer months), as well as several ski resorts nearby.
