Another story tells about Howie Klinefelter who became involved with target holders during World War II. Klinefelter worked at Gorman Machine Shop during World War II and saw first-hand how effective this type of equipment could be used for firing projectiles at targets on the battlefields near Willow Springs. He decided that he wanted to make his own version of this type of equipment so he began working on his creation entitled “Target Holder Mk I” which was ultimately successful! From then on, Target Holder equipment became very popular among gun enthusiasts everywhere! A post office was established in 1868, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1902. A millinery called "The Gables" operated here from 1876 to 1908. In 1907, a group of businessmen formed the Wyoming Grain Elevator Company to purchase land near Riverton and build an elevator that would ship wheat and other grains from nearby fields to Denver, Colorado. The company became known as the Wheat Belt Elevator Company and held its initial meeting here on October 16, 1907. By 1916 it had become one of the world's leading grain elevators with its own elevator yard at Riverton Plaza downtown. The company went into bankruptcy in 1921 but reorganized as Northern Grain & Feed Corporation in 1922 and continued operations until 1984 when it merged with Wiesbaden AGUSA to form MeadWestvaco Corporation (MeadWestvaco). After years of being privatized by MeadWestvaco (and then bought by Nabisco) during the late 1990s-2000s recession, MeadWestvaco was placed into receivership for $2 Billion on August 8, 2009; however, it emerged from Chapter 11 reorganization on January 13th as part of Jana Partners LLC's takeover of Nabisco for $13 billion including all assets (except intellectual property) of Bechtel Communications Group Inc., which also included Plains Alloys Holdings LLC specializing in aluminum smelting and castings outside North America; this completed On January 29th2009 when Jana Partners LLC announced that they had successfully bidder for all assets including intellectual property from Bechtel Communications Group Inc.; this completed On February 5th2009 when Nabisco announced they were selling their entire electric power business (including Beaver Creek Power) to Dominion Realty Trust for $3 billion cash plus debt forgiveness

Additionally, during the late 1800s and early 1900s there were numerous mass shootings in Wyoming Valley - one such event took place on July 8th 1905 when twelve men were killed at a shooting range in Watertown (now part of Pocatello). However despite these tragediesoccasionally something beautiful would happen: small towns like Riverton would find themselves becoming centers for industry due to their location near major city cores like Sheridan or Denver- something that never happened in smaller towns such as Watertown beforeWWII
The Riverton area was first settled by Native Americans in the 15th century. In 1868, the U.S. Census identified the community as a town and in 1870, it became a city. The population of Riverton grew rapidly during the 19th century due to its location on the Arkansas River and its connection to oil production in Wyoming Territory. The City of Riverton lost its status as a city after Wyoming granted independence to America in 1901.
