When the United States acquired Wyoming in 1868, it was clear that the land would be a stop on the wagon trail to Central America. The area had been inhabited by the Arapaho and Sioux for centuries, and there were also numerous gunslingers and frontier traders who established themselves in Cheyenne over time. One of these men was John D. Rockefeller, who founded Standard Oil in 1901. Rockefeller was interested in purchasing land in central New Mexico where he could build a refinery, so he sent his brother-in-law, James Hunt, to scout out the area for him. Hunt found an ideal location for a refinery near Taos–a town that was perched atop a ridge overlooking some of the most beautiful mountains in New Mexico. When Rockefeller learned about Hunt's findings, he decided to invest $5 million into the project. Rockefeller's investment led to one of history's biggest boom years for gun magazines when news of his investment spread throughout America. Gun magazines became centers of early 20th century American culture as they helped promote hunting and shooting sports such as pistols and shotguns while also providing information on firearms itself. Some of the earliest gun magazines were published by Abram Hewitt (1838-1910), an Englishman who came to America during the Gold Rush and set up shop in Denver before moving eastward to start what is now known as G&P Publications Incorporated (AHP). The Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol Club was organized in December of 1868. The first meeting was held at the home of David Wickersham. The club handgunsmith, John N. White, was elected president and treasurer. In 1870, the club purchased a rifle from Major Custer for $27 cash. In 1875, the club acquired a shotgun from Mr. Sully for $5 cash. Cheyenne is a small town located in the Wyoming Valley in central Laramie County, Wyoming. The population was 5,848 at the 2010 census. It lies on both sides of the River Laramie and is bordered by the towns of Rawlins to the south and Sheridan to the east. The Cheyenne Historic District covers more than ninety-six square miles (253 km2). The first European settlers in what is now Wyoming arrived in 1847 by way of Missouri and Nebraska. They named their new land Colorado Territory after General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, who had conquered Mexico during the Mexican–American War. The area that now includes Wyoming was part of this territory. In 1859, when Kansas became a state, Laramie County was included within it. On January 1, 1861, as a result of pressure from Kansas officials, President Abraham Lincoln approved an act creating Wyoming as a state on February 14th. In 1902 Cheyenne opened its own post office and began issuing currency called “Cheyneese Pennies” with five points on one side and two points on the other. These were worth one dollar each at first but later grew into dollars. In 1907 Cheyenne built its own telephone company which still serves today as one of Wyoming’s largest employers. In 1912 Cheyenne seceded from Colorado because of Republican Party platform plank supporting prohibition; however this did not lead to any lasting issues with neighboring states until 1920 when they all seceded to form Oklahoma under then president Warren Harding due to alcohol prohibition laws passed by his predecessor James Kossuth Ballou During World War II much effort went into developing uranium resources in eastern Texas so that Manhattan Project scientists could produce weapons for America; however these efforts came to nothing when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 and American forces entered World War II without having developed any nuclear weapons capability themselves As a result of economic instability caused by overpopulation and lack of natural resources throughout much of Western North America during this time period (the late 1800s through most of the 1930s), many small towns such as Cheyenne quickly fell victim to dust storms which would often last weeks or even months before finally dying out completely leaving behind dozens or sometimes hundreds dead or homeless

By 1858, when Colt started making revolvers exclusively for pistols, handgun magazines had become standard issue on American battlefields. Pistols were now so prevalent that military commanders began issuing special Issue Pistol Magazines (SIPM) to soldiers in order to help them reload quickly on the go. Even after pistols replaced rifles as America’s main form of warfare in the 1860s, revolver Magazine Arrays continued to play an important role in American gun culture until at least World War II
