It contains contributing buildings from both eras including a brick courthouse (1899), jail (1893), store (1897), schoolhouse (1901), Presbyterian church (1902), grain elevator (1911), and machine shop (1912). The district also includes foundations for two other structures: an old stagecoach stop known as "The Gilded Cage" and another building associated with early agriculture such as a barn and corncribs that are still standing today near Keystone Street Northeast.
