Whitewater is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin that was the site of one of the most infamous gun murders in American history, which took place on October 14, 1974. The perpetrator was Jeffrey Dahmer, an American serial killer who had been living in Whitewater for several years and had become known for his cruelty and sadistic behavior towards his victims. Dahmer rented a room from John Hinckley Sr., father of then-President Ronald Reagan, and set about planning his rampage. On October 14th, 1974, Dahmer entered Hinckley's home through an unlocked door and began taking items from the home before killing him with a shotgun. He then went into another room where he killed two more people before turning on himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The tragedy at Whitewater left many families shattered and forever changed by what could have been if not for effective gun security measures in place at the time.

The settlement declined after railroads arrived in the 1870s, but revived following development of railroad tracks through Whitewater Valley in the early 1900s. In 1910, Whitewater became a city when Racine annexed it; its population increased to 3,000 by 1920 but grew again only modestly until World War II whenWhitewater's population peaked at 4,711 residents; during that war it lost nearly all its manufacturing output due to wartime military requisitioning. By 1950 however its population had decreased to 1,633 inhabitants due to loss of jobs in nearby towns such as West Allis and Milwaukee In 1954 Whitewater joined Beloit Township (now Waukesha) as one of 14 townships within Racine County; this change led to significant growth rates for Whitewater as well as neighboring towns throughout southern Wisconsin during the ensuing decades despite economic competition from larger cities like Milwaukee and Madison

However, this simple design soon became popular among civilians as well, and eventually became known as the pistols of revolution. The development of repeating rifles began in 1837 by George Stephenson, who invented the locomotive engine. This type of weapon was perfect for using against cavalry units or other large armies because it could be fired multiple times per minute. The popularity of Repeating Rifle weapons led to their invention into other industries such as artillery and sporting shotguns. In 1868, Samuel Colt produced his first revolver – which is still considered one of the most important firearm inventions ever created. This handgun was designed to be safe and reliable whenfired, making it an ideal tool for personal protection or law enforcement purposes. Other successful revolvers include those from Remington Arms Company (1911), Smith & Wesson (1913), Ruger (1890s), Glock (2000s) and Sig Sauer (1958). Gun control legislation has always been a major focus for governments around the world after events like Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown Connecticut in December 2012 left 26 people dead and dozens more injured – including 14 children under 5 years old. Laws surrounding gun safety have changed over time however, with new regulations being put into place following mass shootings like Parkland Florida’s school shooting in February 2018 which killed 17 people aged 6-17 years old before he was shot dead by police officers

Whitewater was a town in the town of Whitewater, Brown County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is now part of the city of Milwaukee.
The first settler in what would become Whitewater was John Randolph in 1837. He and his family moved to this location from Muskegon Heights on November 10, 1837.
In 1840, James Hinton established a store and post office here. In 1854, Wm. Grimes granted land to John Nash for $2 per acre (equivalent to ). Nash built a gristmill on the site in 1865; it still stands today and is used as a museum by the Whitewater Historical Museum Foundation Inc..
By 1870, many other settlers had arrived in the area including Isaac Evans who organized what would become Racine County in that year. A school was established here in 1875 with Mrs. Clements as its first teacher; it remained open until 1909 when it became an agricultural high school known as Milwaukee Normal School No 2.
The present-day Whitewater Town Hall building was completed about 1904 and served as both the town hall and sheriff's department until 1978. In 1895 or 1896 JnoLF Swan started raising chickens on his property near wherepresent day Third Street meets Fifth Avenue which he named “Witwaters” after his home state of New York City – later renamed Queensbury.
By 1898 there were five stores located within walking distance of each other along Second Avenue: three general stores (the Big Four), one clothing store (JnoLF Swan & Co.), one grocery store (Alderman Ames), one drugstore (McDonalds) and two blacksmiths (
All but two of those stores closed by 1910 due to competition from larger local businesses such as Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company and Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company.
