The Whitewater brothers were two men who were also farmers. They started out farming land around their house which they later sold to other people. In 1857, the Whitewater brothers moved to what is now Whitewater, Wisconsin and they started a ranch there. They made a lot of money from their ranch and they also became very influential in the town. The Whitewater brothers died in 1881 and their son took over their ranching business. He continued to make a lot of money and he also became very influential in the town. He died in 1949 but his son continued to make a lot of money until he passed away too. After his death, his son continued to make a lot of money until he passed away too. But after his death, the business stopped being successful and it eventually went bankrupt. Whitewater was founded in 1837 by John Whitewater and his brother Amos Whitewater. The town first incorporated in 1847. The original name for Whitewater was Appleton Township, but it was changed to Waukesha County in 1858 because of its location within the county boundaries. The townsite at the mouth of the Fox River formed one corner of what would become Racine Township when Racine County was organized on November 3,1868. On February 15,1871, an actwas passed which created Racine City and divided Appleton Township into Racine City and Waukesha County as well as creating a new street grid for both communities. The city of Milwaukee annexed Racine City on May 14,1975; however, annexation did not take place until after numerous protests from residents who considered their town ancestral territory. In 1990-1991 residents successfully fought to have the annexation reversed after learning that WisDOT had been planning to build a $60 million high-speed rail line through their community without consulting them first. On September 17th 2008 issues arose with local government finances affecting school closings across Cook County including Whitewater; all schools were closed avoid any potential disruption caused by possible budget cuts which were later implemented statewide following elections held that day across Illinois

Whitewater is a small town in Hancock County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 553 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Milton–West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. Whitewater was founded by men who fled the Panic of 1837 and built a log cabin there in 1838. The town was named for the river that ran through it, Whitewater Creek. The first post office in Whitewater was established on November 1, 1840, and remained in operation until it closed on July 14, 1865. The first settler to move into Whitewater was John Landon who arrived there with his family on May 6, 1841. Landon had been living in Green Bay since he had left home in 1836 when the entire state of Wisconsin became bankrupt due to the Panic of 1837. Many settlers moved to Whitewater during this time as prices for land were low and farming techniques were new or yet to be perfected. James Mapes also settled there around this time and operated a mill which manufactured flour from cornmeal and other products hauled overland from Vermilion County down the Maquoketa River to White Lake where it could be stored winterized before being used next year In 1850, George Stephenson developed a canal system through southern Wisconsin called Stephenson Canal Company which offered cheaper transportation than wagons or carts carrying goods downriver then barges waiting at various points along its route to be loaded onto trains travelling upriver The towns of Morrisburg (later Steuben) and Stevens Point soon followed suit developing similar canals connecting their localities with those further upstream With these transportation innovations came increased trade between these communities as well as farmers growing crops along canalside while water levels fluctuated making navigation difficult By 1870 Whitewater had become one of the most important agricultural centers within Hancock County as grain elevator shipments led to an increase in business activity During World War II many businesses located near Milwaukee closed because of wartime production shortages but Whitewater continued operations thanks to its status as an agricultural center
The town of Whitewater, Wisconsin was founded in 1839. The first post office was opened in 1841 and the first store was built in 1845. The town rapidly grew and by 1862 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1867 Whitewater became a city and the first mayor was elected.
