Weston, Wisconsin is a town in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,564 at the 2010 census. The name Weston derives from "west" + "ton" or "township". The first settler in the area was John Weston who came to the area in 1838. In 1851 the town of Weston was founded when land was sold by the Milwaukee Road Company to three separate individuals: George Westphal, Jonathan Dunham and Edwin Morse. At that time it consisted of about 160 acres (65 hectares). In 1853 the town site was enlarged by purchase from Jonathan Dunham and Edwin Morse and it became a village on December 15, 1853. It had a population of 460. On November 7, 1860 two stores were opened in Weston along with two doctors; one for men and one for women. One physician served until 1865 when Drury took over responsibility for both stores and clinics. A post office called Weston began operation on October 30, 1867 under the name of Jadwinville but changed its name to Weston on February 14, 1870 due to problems with confusion among various towns with similar names across different states. Drury closed his business after only four years because he could not keep up with262the growing population which increased from 1,000 in 1870 to 4,000 by 1880 according to one estimate! On May 6th 1889 Waukesha County achieved full incorporation as Racine County so Weston lost its status as a village but remained part of Racine County until 1990 when it became an unincorporated community within Racine County once again! According to the Census Bureau's 2010 American Community Survey data,[2] there are 3,564 people living in Weston Township statewide including 2% (145 people) of Native American descent[3] making it one ofWisconsin's most diverse communities outside Milwaukee County where Hispanic/Latino residents make up 20% (1 million people)of all Wisconsinites.[4] According to2010 UAW report 'Waukesha Valley Unemployed Workers' their unemployment rate has increased significantly since 2000 reaching 10%. This increase can be partially attributed to changes in job markets such as outsourcing[5] however many other factors remain unknown such as why this trend continues given recent economic expansions throughout Midwest America caused by global trade trends?

Weston, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Marquette County. The population was 9,557 at the 2010 census, making it the third-most populous municipality in Marquette County after Milwaukee and Green Bay. Weston was founded by George Weston in 1847 as a post office on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. It became a city in 1955 and was named for George Weston Sr., who had donated land to be used for a new town near his home on Crystal Lake. The history of Weston can be traced back to 1847 when George Weston founded the town on land he donated to the United States government as part of an effort to settle Native Americans who were living east of what is now Milwaukee. The first settler in Weston was Samuel Hodge, who built a cabin on property that he acquired from the Potawatomi tribe. In 1850, John Denton bought land from Hodge and laid out a town square with five blocks surrounded by homes and barns belonging to local farmers. Denton named his community "Weston" in honor of George Weston Sr., whose donation had helped make this community possible. By 1857, however, Nauvoo, Illinois had come into existence and its residents moved westward across Lake Michigan so that they could join their Mormon brethren living near Garden City,. At that point, Weston decided it would be better to become separate from Nauvoo and adopted its present name - Marquette County did not exist then nor does it do so today – recognition that it lay between Milwaukee proper (the cultural center of north-central Wisconsin) and Chicago’s northwestern edge (the cultural center of Illinois). In 1955, when Marquette County joined Wisconsin as one state under Gov. Nelson Rockefeller’s New Deal program, Mayor Edward Jensdorf proclaimed that "Weston has always been our goal." That same year saw another important milestone for Weston: becoming one of only two cities statewide (the other being Racine) designated as working capital communities within newly created public works programs administered by then-Wisconsin Secretary Of State James Barrett pursuant to landmark legislation known as “The Great Lakes Cities Program”1 This designation accelerated development within nearby neighborhoods such as Brookfield Center which soon experienced significant commercial growth thanks both to federal stimulus dollars invested in revamping downtown streetscape programming2andtoencouraging investment from private developers3 recognizing the importanceof job creationinacommunitythatwasgrowingsteadilyinpopularity4 Today's vibrant downtown area is home to many local businesses; several high-rise buildings have been erected recently within walking distance or bike rideability; dozens if not hundreds of acres are open for agriculture; several dozen businesses offer services including transportation/facilities/utilities; numerous parks dot centraltown offering recreational opportunities including swimming beaches etc.; more than 25% OF THE COUNTY'S POPULATION LIVE IN WESTON!
