In West Bend, Wisconsin, the first gun sights were installed on firearms in 1876. The town's first blacksmith, Elias Howe, created the first cannons with iron sights and used them to shoot at targets. In 1877, a gunsmith by the name of Prentice invented a lucite-covered sight for handguns that was quickly adopted by the local police force. Mr. Prentice is credited with helping to change the way people view guns and also helped to develop modern rifle sighting methods. Today, there are several types of gun sights available on retail shelves across the United States. One type of gunsight is called a "dot sight." A dot sight typically utilizes an image formed on two lenses placed opposite one another on an optic (pictured above). When hit by light from an object such as a rifle or handgun, this image will be “offset” or displaced from its true centerline due to how each lens is focused. This offset will cause what appears to be movement or displacement of target arms when actually they are stationary relative to your eye; this phenomenon is known as “focusing Error” or FEE. This error can be corrected through use of appropriate focusers and adjustments which results in improved accuracy when engaging moving objects. Gun sights have been designed for many different purposes including precision shooting, hunting game animals, self-defense and even ultralight travel tasks such as carrying tools or camping gear! Finally, there are reflex sights, which allow you to see what your firearm looks like before firing so you don’t have to keep looking at it.

The first firearms sights were created in 1847 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. At the time, most rifles and shotguns used polygonal sights that could only be seen at a specific range. The current design of a rifle or shotgun's sight was developed in the early 1860s by Samuel Colt. This type of sight is called a "circle target sight."

West Bend is a town in the Milwaukee metropolitan area, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 20,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Eau Claire Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "West Bend" comes from a bend in the River Big Cedar where it flows into the Menomonee River. The Town of West Bend was organized on December 12, 1836 by territorial legislature over objections from neighboring towns of Waukesha and Racine. The first meeting was held at what is now the Racine County Courthouse. The town's firsteve mayor was John Aiken and original treasurer were Levi Davenport and Isaac Sanger. On May 5, 1839, Governor James Kapp ordered all municipalities within his circuit to form a new parish called Noble with land east of present day West Bend Township including most of today's village of West Bend as well as Huffman Prairie to the south and west (west side being then territory belonging to Racine County). This order created many problems for future mayors as they had no way to know if their municipality would be included in Noble or not until after they were elected officials! When it came time for nominations for that year'sNoble Parish Council there were onlyfour members nominated- all four residents from Waukesha- two men and two women- so Kapp put an end to that by orders passing on November 25th giving each council member one vote instead! At that same meeting also took place what are now known as the Town Meeting Regulations which provided much more formal ways for citizens to voice their opinions on local issues without having to go through a Town Meeting! The first primary school in town was built in 1840 by Rufus King who donated land near present day High School #2 which served students until 1893 when East High School opened followed by South Park Rural School which closed in 1907 due to financial difficulties before finally opening again as Baldwin-Whitworth Elementary School which still serves students today! There have been several additions over time including: North Park Elementary (1948), Greenfield Intermediate (1965), South Park Middle (1972), Baldwin-Whitworth High School (2002) and current location – West Side Junior Senior high school - opened September 2016! In addition, there are several private schools located within walking distance such as: Apple Valley Technical Academy & Technology Center (2010), Mount Pleasant Christian Academy & PreKindergarten(2013), Sacred Heart Catholic Educational Institute(2015) andhomegrown independent schools like Holy Cross Catholic Secondary/High School &Trinity Lutheran College Prep CharterSchools(2018). In recent years West Bend has experienced some growth with plans for a new community center based off Ofra Hill Drive being developed along with several other businesses planned for this area like grocery stores, restaurants etc... With plans currently under development for both an elementary school west of Ofra Hill Drive which will serve grades kindergarten through eighth grade along with an additional middle/high school these areas should see significant growth over time!

It went through a period of growth and prosperity, but also faced some hard times. For example, in 1907 there were several devastating fires that destroyed much of thetown centre. However, those tough times did not stop West Bend from continuing to grow and thrive. In recent years, West Bend has become an important cultural center within the greater Milwaukee area – home to a number of popular restaurants and attractions such as Lake Michigan Boat Tours and County Fair Park!

West Bend, Wisconsin was founded in 1837 by George Washington Carver. It is the most populous city in the state of Wisconsin and the 14th-largest city in the United States. The city is located in Racine County and has a population of over 175,000 people.
