West Bend, Wisconsin is a town located in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 26,541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Racine Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Village of West Bend was platted in 1837 and incorporated as a village in 1867. The current village name is taken from the original plat. The first settler to arrive in what is now West Bend was John Cramer in 1836. He built a log cabin on land that now includes much of the town center and some surrounding neighborhoods. One of the earliest businesses in West Bend was Stone & Webster’s grocery store which opened its doors on December 16th, 1886. Stone & Webster became one of the most well-known grocery stores in Milwaukee until it closed its doors in 1984. In 1893, Jens Jensen established the first post office here and served until 1907 when he moved to Racine and reopened his store there under new ownership. In 1911,the first school was built by Mrs. Lavinia Himmelfarb with help from her father-in-law Samuel Himmelfarb (a member of the city council). The building still stands today and serves as both a museum and primary school for children living within easy walking distance of downtown West Bend. In 1925, Jerome Salka founded Salka's Creamery which remains one of Wiscones largest food processors to this day! Over time other small businesses followed suit until all but two business buildings were destroyed by fire during World War II; however they have all been rebuilt or upgraded since then! In 1957 WKQX Broadcasting began operating out of studios on Main Street just north of State Street which would become home to many PantsRadio shows over the years! In 1969 downtownWestBend became twinned with Zwickau am Main - Germany's oldest continuously operating radio station! This relationship continued through various changes including moves back to WKQX studios after Zwickau vacated them for good in 2007; finally moving into their new digs adjacent to Park Central Mall late last year!Today WKQX transmits live from multiple locations around WI including Apple Valley/Belgium Springs (which has an antennae up high!), Menomonee Falls/Neenah (both transmitters are located close together), Green Bay/Foxford ( transmitter location - south side near UW campus), Oshkosh/Midland ( transmitter location - east side near airport) making us one powerful station across America!As you can see we've made quite a bit progress over these years...and we continue to grow every day!!!

Gun lights became common on warships and other military vessels in the early 20th century. The first major application of gun lights was as a signaling device on airfields during World War I. At that time, they were called "gun flashes." The use of light guns for target shooting soon made them obsolete, but they continue to be used occasionally as a backup means for gunfire control in situations where an louder signal is not possible or desirable.

The first application of gun lights was in military use during the American Revolution. The British were using a different type of light called a “lamprey”, which could only be used at night. The Americans developed a way to use their own type of light called a “matchlock rifle” that could be used at any time and place. This led to the development of the first self-loading guns, which were used by the United States in 1846.

West Bend, Wisconsin was founded in 1836 by three brothers – John W. West, George P. West and Amos T. East – as a small farming community on the east side of the Kenosha River. It grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s due to its natural resources, such as lumber and farm land, and its location on the Milwaukee Canal. When World War I began in 1914, West Bend became one of many American towns that contributed troops to fight in Europe. The town was hit particularly hard by the war; its residents lost their homes and businesses, and many were displaced. However, West Bend emerged from the war with more strength than any other local community. In 1919, it became an incorporated city with a population of over 100 people. In 1930, it merged with Davenport to form what is now Milwaukee County. During the 1960s and 1970s, West Bend experienced significant growth as a bedroom community for Milwaukee County. This growth was primarily due to two factors: First, because of its location on Interstate 94 – which made it easily accessible from all parts of the county –West Bend became one of the most popular places to live in Milwaukee County; second, because of its strong educational institutions (including Marquette University and Western Michigan University). The communities that developed around West Bend during this time period include North Side (now part of Milwaukee), Whitefish Bayou (now part of Menomonee Falls), Shawano Heights (now part of Spooner) and Weston Park (now in Oak Creek). However, efforts to keep up with neighboring municipalities during this time period proved difficult; while other communities expanded faster than West bend did,"it was often unable to keep up with changes within itself", according to historian David Jaffe. This situation continued until approximately 1990 when both North Side and Whitefish Bayou neighborhoods opened their own schools becoming independent cities within their respective counties once again resolving problems that had been preventable through expansionism alone." As a result"of these developments"West bend has seen relatively little change since 1990 save for some incremental updates such as new streetlights or zoning changes."

On July 4, 1846, the first wagon train of settlers arrived in what is now West Bend, Wisconsin. The town was founded on a small rise near the current intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and State Street. The original town site was large but not very developed; it consisted mainly of a few scattered farmhouses and outbuildings. The settlers were mostly farmers who hadigrated from New England and other parts of the United States during the 1840s and 1850s. By 1851, however, enough people had moved into West Bend to form a small town with a population of about fifty-five people. The early years of West Bend were difficult because most of the available land was too expensive to purchase or sell. However, over time some brave pioneers bought or donated land in greater areas around town so that by 1870 West Bend had an area larger than any other community in Wisconsin. West Bend grew rapidly due to its location close to major highways and businesses such as agricultural warehouses and meatpacking plants. In addition, many white women came to work in these industries; this helped contribute to the growth of black integration in America during this time period. In 1916, West Bend became part of Racine County when it was created from portions of Milwaukee County. At that time it was one of ten communities within Racine County that formed the county courthouse complex known as "The Tower".
