In 1837, Isaac Morse moved to what is now downtown Wauwatosa with his family and named their settlement after him - Morse City. In 1847, John Roemer founded a gristmill on State Street just east of downtown Wauwatosa; this mill continued operation until 1967 when it was replaced by the current Northwestern National Bank building complex. The first post office in town was established in 1851; it closed due to low mail rates two years later. The early residents of Wauwatosa were farmers who grew corn, wheat, potatoes and other crops; they also manufactured goods such as wagons and buggy parts from local leather merchant Hermann Knechtel's shop on Main Street between First Avenue North and Michigan Avenue North. Manufacturing declined during World War II but resumed following the end of hostilities; by 1960 almost all factories had closed except for Northwest National Bank which still operates today as one ofWI's leading commercial banks with over $50 billion in assets under management as well as more than 375 branches throughout WI including 12 locations inside Milwaukee County alone! In 1943 Harry Jansen opened Jansen’s Department Store at 808 N Capitol St., becoming one ofWisconsin’s first department stores open to the public outside Milwaukee County – an event that helped define retail shopping center development inWI subsequent decades! By 1970 nearly all stores had closed or converted into big box retailers such as Sears & Roebuck but Northwest National Bank survived until its sale to Wells Fargo Manhattan Ventures LLC for $2 billion effective January 1st, 2014! Thereafter it became part of Wells Fargo Financial Group – one ofAmerica’s leading financial institutions with over $500 billion total assets under management! This device allowed someone who was not familiar with firearms to shoot a targeting ball using an animal’s eye as their aiming point. Gun sights became more common after they were approved by Pope Clement VII in 1248 AD as part of his Pazzi policy against crossbows and other artillery weapons. The first true firearm sights were created in 1536 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and Giovanni da Verrocchio. Theseights used an image of a human or animal being projected onto an archery bowstring so that shooters could aimed at their intended prey without having to look down at their weapon. The popularity of firearm sights began to decline during the 16th century because people started using new methods such as windage/ elevation adjustments on large firearms instead of relying ongun sight alone. However, this did not mean that firearm sights had stopped being useful; they just proved less accurate than before due to changes in technology over time. From about 1650 until 1790 AD, most handgun shooters continued to rely exclusively ongunsight alone because ease of use was still its main priority when it came to sighting weapons manually. During this time period, some form of reticle or aiming aid was usually included with all handguns except those chambered for rifle ammunition which were operated by means other than sight (such as cast iron balls). This change may have been due largelyto improvements made in optics since then which made larger images more clear while reducing errors caused by poor alignment between optic elements

Wauwatosa is the smallest of the five towns in Dane County and is one of only two towns without a high school. It also has no library. In 1849, Wauwatosa was platted as a village and wagons were brought there to load with goods for shipment to Milwaukee. In 1855, when Milwaukee became an incorporated city, Wauwatosa became its first municipality. The first post office was established in 1856 andifled mail from the city until 1893. The first schools were built in 1870-71 and served children from surrounding villages until 1915 when they moved to separate buildings on State Street. During World War II, Wauwatosa played host to campagna (a military encampment) used by the United States Army Air Forces Ninth Air Force during Operation Torch which landed on Algeria on November 8th 1944
Wisconsin was part of the United States from 1847 to 1865. The state capital was Milwaukee from 1855 until it was moved to Madison in 1858. Wisconsin passed the first public education law in the US in 1840. The Badger State became a presidential battleground during the 1960s, with John F Kennedy losing to Richard Nixon. In 1972, General Electric CEO Eugene McCarthy won Wisconsin’s electoral votes and became the first Democrat elected to the Senate from that state since 1964.
