The Wauwatosa Gun Club was organized in 1892. The first club meeting was held on July 9th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Ackerly. At that time the club consisted of six members; Dr. George Fenton, Mr. James Pritchard, Mrs. Eliza Sleeper, three brothers named Nelson, Andrew and Levi Davenport, and one sister named Emma Laughlin. The first range was located on the east side of town near the railroad tracks and it used to take about an hour to shoot a round from a .44 caliber revolver at 100 yards. In 1896 the club moved its Range Facility to what is now known as Park Hall on Randall Road in order to increase space for members to shoot pistols and revolvers without having to travel far each time they wanted to do so. By 1909 there were fourteen member-owners of the Wauwatosa Gun Club with chambers full of ammunition! In 1912 membership totaled twenty seven members with over two hundred rounds fired from their firearms at various ranges throughout the township! In 1927 pistol shooting became an event open to all gun owners within our community when we merged with neighboring Brookfield Township under one chambered organization! At that time membership had grown too large for us ever again comfortably fit into our old Range Facility so we purchased land adjacent to Park Hall which is still used today for pistol shooting events! Today there are nearly fifty-six member-owners of the Wauwatosa Gun Club with over 2,000 rounds fired through their firearms at different ranges throughout Wauwatosa County!

The Fox River valley has been inhabited by people for about 10,000 years. The first European to visit what is now Wauwatosa was John James Audubon who explored it in 1837. In 1873–79, Wauwatosa was home to both the University ofWisconsin–Madison and Mount Holyoke College before they merged into UW–Milwaukee. In 1927 Wauwatosa became part of Milwaukee and its metropolitan area had a total population of 1 million people. The beginning of American industry in this area began with tanning beds being built near what is now downtown Wauwatosa in 1847 by Nicholas Henshaw and his partner David Douglass as an experiment to see if settlers could live without malaria or yellow fever during the harsh winters that year. This early development helped establish Wauwatosa as an important manufacturing center for many years until becoming dominated by agriculture following World War II when aluminum production moved westward into this country from Asia and other countries; steel production followed soon afterward. However, even today there are several major businesses located within walking distance of almost any activity center or shopping mall in town: Proctor & Gamble (P&G), Sam’s Club (SAMS), Kohl’s Co., JCPenney (JCP), IKEA (IKEA). In recent decades there has been growth not only in professional services but also restaurant/cafeteria businesses such as Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts which have brought new jobs to town while also adding much-needed foot traffic to local streetscape areas such as 22nd Street between Niles Avenue and Menominee Avenue; First St./Niles Ave.; Second St./Erie Rd.; Third St./Wabash Ave.; Fourth St./Lake Calumet Ave.—all areas where restaurants have generated more than $1 million dollars per year since 2007 alone! Development still continues apace along most major thoroughfares including Ewing Road south of Town Hall Square; Sixth Street east of State Fairgrounds Drive; Niles Avenue north from Menominee Avenue through Ward Park northwest to Whitefish Bayou—a business corridor that can be easily accessed via Interstate 94 South from downtown!
Wauwatosa was founded in 1854 by the Wiscona people. The town became a city in 1907 and is now the largest city in the state of Wisconsin. Wauwatosa is also home to St. John's Episcopal Church, which was built in 1865 and remains one of the most important civic institutions in the city.
