Gun sights history in Wausau, Wisconsin can be traced back to 1892. At that time, the city of Wausau was the home of a rifle range and a pistol range. The rifle range was located on the north side of town and the pistol range was located on the south side of town. The first gun sights in Wausau were glass arcadia sights. These were designed by Reverend George Hennepin and installed at the Rifle Range in 1892. In 1902, a new pistol range was built on State Street in Wausau. This new range had three ranges - an open-air riflerange on one end and a trap-shooting range on the other two ends. In 1924, Wausau changed its zoning laws and became a city. As part of this change, gun sightspection requirements changed which required all gun shops to have metal detectors for checking firearms without taking them into account as “firearms” under state law. At that time, most gun shops did not have metal detectors so these requirements resulted in many guns being confiscated from shop owners who could not meet inspection criteria. In response to this situation, some Gun Shop Owners decided to set up their own security systems by purchasing armed guards or installing video cameras inside their businesses.

The first post office opened in 1856, and incorporated as a city in 1861 under the name “Wausauer” after Captain Averill’s son-in-law, George Washington Dodge (1820-1865). As time went on, sights became more complex and featured different sighting devices. In 1868, George Stephenson developed what is now considered one of the most advanced sights ever created for handguns- the George Stephenson Rifle Sight (GSR). This type ofsight allowed users to align their shots with relative ease by using two concentric circles that could be seen from great distances away. It also featured an illuminated reticle which helped shooters visualize how their bullets were traveling within each circle while firing at targets located far away. The first successful trials were conducted with this new sighting device in 1869 and it soon became popular among gunners all over America due its precision and easyAiming capabilities。 Although GSRs had many benefits such as making gunfire easier and faster, they also caused some problems because they required very good aimability in order to function properly。 However, due to its popularity and ease-of-use, GSRs remained standard equipment for most handgun owners until fairly recently
The first modern sporting rifles were designed in the 1860s. They were called “ carbines” and had a crude, round barrel with a set of iron sights that could be adjusted to target position. There was no such thing as an adjustable or telescopic sight at that time. The first truly accurate rifles were designed in the 1870s by GeorgeMatchless and Leonard Savage, who used a gas-operated system that allowed for variable depth of fire by adjusting the distance between the bore and stock. These rifles became known as muzzleloaders because they fired rounds hand-held rather than using a Powderman breech loading system which required reloading every shot from the magazine.
The town of Wausau, Wisconsin was founded in 1854 by Simeon Weber and John C. Wright. The city was named for the creek that runs through it. Wausau became a borough in 1865 and then a village in 1903. It was made a city in 1907 and is now the seat of the Wausau County government. The area around Wausau has been inhabited by Native Americans for more than 10,000 years. One of the first European settlers in what is now Wausau was Jean Nicolet, who arrived in 1773 as part of the Great Lakes Expedition. In 1854, Simeon Weber bought land on which he built an adobe house that still stands today. He also started to build mills which were important factors in helping make Wausau a successful community. In 1865, the City Council voted to change the name of the town to “Wausau” after John C Wright, one of its founders and its first mayor. In 1903, when village status was granted to it by council resolution, Mayor Wright presented a petition with 1,500 signatures from residents asking for city status because of its increasing population size and importance as an industrial center. The vote to become a city was ratified by voters on November 3rd, 1907
The first European to visit the area was German trader, Eberhard Lorenz in 1763. The first permanent settler in what is now Wausau County was John Doane in 1834. The town of Wausau was platted on May 6, 1854 by commissioners from the Town of Milwaukee and the Village of West Allis.
