Waukesha, Wisconsin is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Waukesha County. The population was 509 at the 2010 census, down from 621 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Wisconsin Metropolitan Area. The downtown area has been called "the cultural and commercial capital of America" for over 100 years and home to many large businesses, including Jamba Juice, Sears, KFC, Kohl's, Monsanto Company and Apple Inc.. The town began as a small settlement on the edge of present-day Waukesha County in 1837 by John Goodspeed and his family. They named their new town after Isaac Newton Waunesor, leader of a group that explored a route to Chicago in 1836-37. A post office was established in 1838 with Goodspeed as its first mail carrier. In 1840, Waunesrae developed into an early agricultural center with two sawmills and four farms producing corn, wheat flour and other crops; these areas are now part of downtown Waukesha. A Methodist church was built in 1841 on land donated by Simon Cameron; it remains one oftown's most important landmarks today. In 1861 when Wisconsin became a Ulysses S Grant statehood movement goal (it would not be granted until 1888), settlers petitioned for incorporation as village but were refused due to lack of usable land within the boundaries proposed for town – only 3 blocks wide instead of 10 or 12 blocks as desired. After some negotiations between local officials and another community situated just east across Lake Michigan near Green Bay resulted in increased development potential for what had once been farmland just outside town limits – including current-day Fox Point – incorporation finally occurred on April 15 1870 under name "Waukesha". By 1880 both incorporated villages had grown sufficiently to warrant their own elected leaders: Town Meeting Day (April 15) saw incorporation votes cast for incumbents John Ward ( mayor ) & Samuel Kappenheimer ( recorder ); Village Clerk Lorenzo Nieves also voted unanimously against incorporation into Fox Point because he felt it would result in more business growth there than could be supported within newly created village limits.– Insufficient property within original boundaries caused refusal; this led to split decision among residents over whether to keep separate towns or merge them eventually.#1Kappenheimer’s vote set off resistance among some residents who felt they had been slighted by fellow villagers #2Ward’s election allowed consolidation which eventually led to present day downtown WIAUKESHA

By 1800 AD, handguns had spread throughout much of Europe and North America including parts of Asia such as Japan where they were known as kunai (a throwing weapon). By 1847, shotguns had also become popularized throughout much of Europe with many individuals using them for hunting big game such as deer and shotgunning their prey from a distance before slaughtering it! Shotguns remain one of the most popular types of handguns today with many individuals still using them for personal defense purposes!
