The gun magazine complex in Waukesha was first established in 1892 and continues to be one of the most popular shooting destinations in the United States. The complex consists of four buildings that are all used for storage and display of firearms. One of the buildings is also used as a training center for law enforcement officers.

The first gun magazine in Waukesha, Wisconsin was the Masonic Arms and Ammunition Co. store on Green Street. The company was founded in 1892 by John P. Gorman, a Freemason and gunsmith. In 1903, the company changed its name to the Masonic Armory Company and produced both pistols and rifles. In 1907, the company moved to its current location on Harrison Avenue in Waukesha. The Armory produced handguns as well as rifles for both law enforcement agencies as well as target shooting throughout the Milwaukee area. In 1951, the Armory became part of Springfield Armory Corporation and stopped production of firearms altogether except for optics products.
Waukesha, Wisconsin is a town in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 12,744 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is derived from the Potawatomi word "wac-sah". The first settler in Waukesha was David Mills. In 1836, John Jacob Astor bought land in what is now Waukesha and donated it to the state of Wisconsin as part of the Astor Grant. In 1839, Isaac Brock built a sawmill on Wallace Creek. In 1846, George Stephenson built a canal through Waukesha Township to connect Lake Michigan with the Upper Great Lakes. The canal brought traffic and jobs to Waukesha and other towns along its route. In 1898, Hennepin County created Wausername Township which included all of what is now eastern Waukesha County except for some parts near Watertown that were annexed by Madisonville in 1906. In 1903, most of eastern Waukesha County (except for Watertown) was merged into Racine County under new territorial government rules designed to reduce county debt and increase agricultural production. A post office called Wausername had been established in 1892; it was discontinued in 1907. Wauceta Lake became an artificial lake created by damming up Wallace Creek on December 14th 1914 following heavy rains caused by a severe freeze over that week

Waukesha, Wisconsin is the most populous city in the Milwaukee metropolitan area and one of the largest cities in Wisconsin. The population was 1,815 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Milwaukee County and home to about half of all people living in Wisconsin. Waukesha was founded by German immigrants in 1834 as a fur trading post on the shore of Lake Michigan. The site became a town in 1847, when it was united with Racine to form the radio town of Racine. In 1962, Waukesha became an independent city and retains its separate government today. The history of Waukesha begins with early Dutch settlers who arrived from New Netherland during what is now considered the American Revolution. They were followed by English colonists and Germans who began arriving in large numbers during the late eighteenth century. Eventually, Englishmen took over power within Waukesha Township and organized it into a chartered borough called Racine on November 12, 1824 under then-Governor John Taylor (1786-1850). At that time, Racine had a population of only 100 people and consisted mainly of farmers who raised maize (a type of corn) for their own sustenance rather than selling it to local merchants or exporting it inland like other towns in central Wisconsin did at that time. Racine grew rapidly after becoming an incorporated township on January 1, 1830 following approval by state legislators presided over by Governor John Broughton (1801-1856). That same year saw another growth spurt for Racine as local businessmen donated land for incorporation purposes along North Superior Avenue which served as racetrack/horse racing track until 1957 when it closed due to financial problems. The village section near Prairie du Chien – which included present day downtown Waukesha – actually dates back to 1795 when French traders first landed there on horseback seeking trade goods with Native Americans including land for fishing rights off nearby Menomonee River where they built Fort Snelling next door using sandbags taken from beach erosion caused by waves breaking upon shorelines eroding since lately formed dunes 6 miles long! During this period wealthy men such as David Vail donated money towards building a new courthouse which opened its doors March 4th, 1841 just weeks after Vail's death while serving as justiceofthe peace for Racine Township; making him one of only two Ulysses S Grant (1846-1935) appointees to statewide office in Wisconsin during his lifetime! Another important figure during this time was Judge John Anderson who served as Acting Town Treasurer from 1840 through 1851 before being elected Sheriff on November 3rd FY 1850 concurrent with his predecessor Isaac Brockway’s term ending six days later due to term Limits set forth by Legislative Joint Resolution No. 9 passed February 25th Aided & Encouraged By Your Honor! The first permanent settler in what is now Waukesha County, Wisconsin was David C. Foster in 1836. The area that is now Waukesha County was part of the territory of Racine County until it was organized as a separate county in 1848.
