The Watertown Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The club grew to include a rifle range, pistol range, and shotguns at the corner of State and Washington Streets. In 1912, the club moved to its current location on Main Street in Watertown. The rifle range was renovated in 1984 and is now home to the Watertown Rifle & Pistol Club’s 1-hour trap shooting program. The pistol range was renovated in 2003 and is now home to the Watertown Pistol & Rifleshooting Team’s 5-day competition season.
Watertown is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Jefferson County. The population was 27,544 at the 2010 census, making it the fifth-most populous town in Wisconsin after Milwaukee, Madison, Waukesha, and Kenosha. It is also one of the most ethnically diverse towns in America: its population includes people from all over North America as well as Europe and Asia. Watertown is known for its dramatic hills that rise to a height of more than 100 feet (30 m) above downtown; for its Dutch Reformed churches; and for its annual Cherry Blossom Festival which attracts thousands of visitors each year. The first settlement in what is now Watertown was made by freeze-dried food merchants from New Amsterdam on December 12, 1795. named "Watervliet", after Fort Nassau on Long Island where George Washington had been born two years earlier on November 14th. The first permanent settler was Jonas Noyes who built a log cabin on his farmstead called Noyesville about 1814 or 1815. In 1830 John Lawton erected a small frame building on land he bought near present day Union Depot which served as courthouse until 1938 when an new courthouse was constructed at what is now First National Bank Building across from Park Lake Park while still serving as jail until 1865 when it became part of State Street Jail complex that still stands today across First National Bank Building lot from Administration Building (now Northwestern Mutual Tower). The first post office opened in Watertown on October 15, 1834 with John Fenton as Postmaster General Under Secretary William McKinney who later served as Ulysses S Grant's Vice Presidential running mate during the American Civil War The settlement continued to grow with waves of immigrants arriving throughout the 1840s including German Catholics fleeing Prussia under Napoleon I's occupation; Irish Protestants escaping famine during British rule; Poles coming to work in mills owned by German landlords; Italian Americans working their way up through various jobs in local businesses such as sawmills and gristmills before finally settling down to start their own families back home In 1850 there were just 6 residents living in Watervliet while by 1860 there were 382 residents living there including 21 farmers, 11 mechanics, 5 blacksmiths and 1 shoemaker . By 1870 only 10 residents remained with 51 farms outlying into Adams County . In 1886 all but 2 buildings within Watervliet had burned down due to lack of funds for fire prevention – this left only 2Commercial buildings standing which still stand today next door to each other at Union Depot Square - these are currently used as apartments In 1898 water delivery began service between Watervliet and Chicago bringing many people directly into town instead of going through larger towns like Racine or Appleton Meanwhile much larger towns like Racine or Appleton were starting to fill up with Germans, Irishmen etc., causing a decrease in English speaking residentry leaving watervliet entirely Spanishspeaking by 1910 When prohibition hit tonite many farmers decided they would rather sell booze than transport it any longer so they closed their doors shutters completely resulting in more then 1000 arrests during prohibition

However, some key aspects associated with Watertown's past have helped make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in central Wisconsin – including its rich cultural heritage (including murals dating back to 1693 inside Town Hall), numerous historical landmarks (including Pabst Brewery and First Baptist Church), and beautiful downtown streetscape that remains substantially unchanged since 1800s despite repeated major remodeling efforts by municipal governments throughout central Wisconsin over time. Today, Watertown continues to enjoy high-quality tourism experiences thanks to its vibrant downtown community and many cultural attractions which include Pabst Brewery (one of only two original breweries in America still operating), First Baptist Church (one of oldest churches in America), both State Historical Society museums (#1 museum overall among all American cities) –focused on local history & culture rather than memorabilia/tourism -and Museum Park which features replica cannons from Battle Of Mount Pleasant fought between United States Marines & Native Americans circa 1814
Watertown was founded in 1837 by Major George Waterman and his wife, Martha. The town was named for the Wisconsin River that ran through it. In 1852, the town's first post office was established. The town grew rapidly, and by 1865 it had a population of over 1,500 people. In 1878, the city of Milwaukee was founded nearby, and Watertown began to lose its status as a major center of trade and culture. However, it retains a significant role in Wisconsin history because many of the early settlers were from Watertown.
