In 1847, the company became the first in America to produce revolver pistols, rifles and shotguns. The company continued to grow until it produced over one million firearms between 1901 and 1911.
Watertown is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Milwaukee–Waukesha–West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The land where Watertown now stands was first settled by European immigrants in 1792 as part of the Marquette Expedition and claimed by France in 1807 as part of Louisiana Purchase. The name Watertown comes from an early French name for this location, "Beausoleil." On December 12, 1814, Isaac Brock set out from Fort Dearborn with a party of 7 soldiers and explorationists led by Captain Christopher Hough to explore what lay beyond Canada's Great Lakes frontier. They named their landing site "Watertown" after Lieutenant Colonel John Prentiss's family home near Boston (now Waukesha). In 1830, when Territorial Governor David Douglas proclaimed that all Indian reservations were to be dissolved and all remaining residents were to move to towns or villages within one year, Watertown became one of several communities established within his boundaries within that time frame – along with Green Bay, Racine and Kenosha – all under the leadership of then-Governor Nicholas Wrightman. In 1861, when Wisconsin became a state following its initial admission into Union on November 8th that year, Watertown became its capital; it had previously been held by Green Bay. The city experienced rapid growth during World War II due to military production facilities being built there including Anderson Aircraft Factory #1 (1943), Rockwell Automation Company (1944), United States Army Ammunition Plant #6 (1945) – which manufactured munition for both Allied and Axis forces – and Northrop Aircraft Corporation's Munitions Division (1945-1946). With these industries gone away mostly during the postwar period however local businesses have continued to thrive such as Meijer Inc.'s Department store which opened in 1951 adjacent to Armour Yards shopping center which played an important role in developing downtown Watertown into one of North America’s largest shopping districts; today it remains one of North America’s most significant commercial areas despite having few retail stores left inside its limits Watertown has also seen recent development emphasis given towards its waterfront area with new apartments being constructed next door to Battery Park South while another major redevelopment project underway includes a $30 million mixed-use project anchored by Sears Tower called "CityCenter". Overall waterfront redevelopment has become an increasingly popular trend throughout much of Greater Milwaukee since it provides easy access onto riverfront property making it more accessible for tourists while also providing new housing developments overlooking both lakes Michigan and Illinois providing much needed economic stability for small towns like Watertown . TodayWatertown continues experiences strong economic revival especially given its close proximity to Chicago & Milwaukee - two cities whose populations are over 10 million people each - as well as Northwestern Indiana via Interstate 94 corridor making it easily accessible for various types of businesses whether they be foodservice providers like Pizza Hut or larger retailers like Kohl's or JBL Audio

It was founded in 1836 by a group of Dutch farmers and their families, who named it after Watertown, Massachusetts. Watertown was one of five towns founded in Racine County by Danish immigrants in 1836 as part of a larger effort to found new agricultural settlements across Wisconsin. The town's founders saw waterfowl as an important factor for subsistence and developed a system for catching and marketing ducks and geese. The first store opened in 1839 on State Street (now Washington Avenue) near present-day Park Square. By 1840, the town hadeight stores and had even begun exporting eggs from its hatchery to Illinois. In 1841, settlers from Racine organized themselves into a township committee under the leadership of Amos Stiles. In 1850, Watertown became an incorporated village with seven streets and three buildings: the courthouse on Main Street (now First Avenue), meeting hall on Market Street (now Washington Avenue), post office on State Street (now Adams Boulevard), school house at Greenleaf Lane (later renamed North High School), and stores on South High School Drive; all except school were built between 1860 and 1870 by local contractor Alfred Wigglesworth Jr.. The village declined during the 1850s due to competition from larger towns such as Milwaukee; however, it regained some popularity during Reconstruction when many refugees from southern states settled in Watertown due to its proximity to major cities such as Chicago and New York City. During prohibition era water sales increased because most people could not afford beer or wine; this made Watertown one of several Wisconsin municipalities that passed liquor laws before statehood in 1907 Watertown's population peaked at over 100,000 during World War II but has since fallen victim to significant declines both within society overall as well as within individual neighborhoods throughout the metro area
Watertown was founded in 1836 by George Watertown, a settler from Massachusetts. The town grew steadily until the late 1800s when it suffered from a number of economic setbacks. In 1902, the town was renamed after LBJ, the 34th president of the United States.
