Watertown is a small town located in the town of Slinger, Wisconsin on the Fox River. The population was 1,854 at the 2010 census. Watertown has been inhabited by Native Americans for over 10,000 years and was first settled by European settlers in 1836. In 1855, the town became part of Racine County and was incorporated as a village in 1909. Watertown experienced heavy flooding during the great Milwaukee Flood of 1992 which caused extensive damage to business and homes. The community rebuilt quickly and has since grown into one of Wisconsin's most vibrant towns with a rich history dating back to 1792 when the first white people arrived in what is now Watertown. The first ammunition factory in Watertown was built in 1856 by John Cossitt. Ammunition production continued until 1861 when it merged with another company to become J & W Armoury Co., Inc.. The firm produced artillery shells, rifle cartridges, grenades and machine guns until 1865 when it merged with George Armstrong Whitworth Company to formWhitworth Armoury Co., Inc.. Arsenal Ammunition Mills opened its doors on November 11th 1860 as Whitworth Armoury’s second manufacturing plant after their original factory near Green Bay closed due to financial difficulties. It manufactured artillery shells (including canister rounds), rifle cartridges (including Remington- Model 8 rifles) grenades, black powder pistols and revolvers from 1860 until 1915 when it merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation to become Winchester Arms Company Ltd.. In 1895 Winchesters were introduced into Canada where they continued to be popular among gun enthusiasts up until that point. Canadian production ceased in 1949 although some guns still remain extant today including the De Vere Mark III pistol which is currently displayed at Winchester Museum USA - one of only a few such specimens remaining from this era nationally! In 1907 entrepreneur Julius Caesar started producing water pistols at his facility just north of downtown Watertown along Lake Michigan. These early pistols were made primarily out of brass but soon began incorporating other materials too including wood handle/frame construction distinctive unto this type of firearm at that time This style also led to later designs featuring checkered walnut grips becoming quite popular among water shooters across America during this time period! Watertown, Wisconsin was first settled in 1793 by the Potawatomi tribe. The town was named after General Anthony Wayne who fought against Native Americans during the American Revolution. In 1847, Watertown became a city and then a state capital in 1907.

Watertown owes its name to a millstream that flows through the town center. The first permanent settler in Watertown was James Hutton who founded a gristmill on Mill Creek in 1836. In 1857, John Dennison built a flouring mill on the east side of Mill Creek and named it after himself. The first post office in Watertown was established in 1858. In 1870, David Sheboygan bought land near the present-day intersection of North First Street and East State Street and began construction of a sawmill and warehouse which he called Crystal Hall. By 1875, Sheboygan had also built an opera house which he called Crystal Palace. During World War I,Crystal Palace served as an American military hospital for troops wounded or disabled onthe battlefields around Europe. After World War I ended, Crystal Palace reverted back to Sheboygan until his death in 1925. From 1919 to 1927, shebangan (a Japanese word meaning "to wash") was conducted at Crystal Palace by local women using cold water from nearby springs as well as soap made from animal dung scraps collected during agricultural operations across central Wisconsin In 1931, herhangan became international when it took place at New York City's Madison Square Garden under license from Watertown Woman's Club under direction of Mrs John Lennon In 1951, Watertown became home to Wisconsin's first female senator when Florence Leach won election as state treasurer In 1984-1988 two communities merged into one - Russellville followed suit three years later In 1990-1994 another community merged into one - Arroyo Grande
