Broughton sold his product to various businesses in Verona and other towns in northern Wisconsin. In the 1920s, different companies began making gun lights with different designs and colors. The most common type today is the red and green lightbulb-style light. Gun lights can also be powered by batteries or plugged into an electrical outlet.

The first gun lights were installed in Verona, Wisconsin on October 15th, 1903. The gunsights were used to illuminate the path of a ball game between the town’s two teams.
Verona is a town in the eastern Manitowoc County of Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,994 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Stout area. The townsite that now makes up Verona was first granted to David Laughlin by Governor John P. Neumann on November 14, 1906. The town was platted on March 3, 1907 by J.S. Davenport and Wm. Halsey Miller with 1,200 acres (4 km²). A post office called Verona was established in 1909, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1955. In 1945, the United States War Department built Fort Casey as part of Project Neptune for command and control of the Wisconsin Rapids area during World War II. The fortifications were dismantled after the war and most of what remains today is located within present-day Verona village limits but there are also some remnants scattered throughout other nearby towns such as Janesville and Menomonee Falls as well as in Iron Mountain National Park east of Milwaukee

Verona, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is the seat of Vernon County and has a population of 9,827 as of the 2010 census. The first permanent settlers in what is now Verona were German farmers who called the area "Wiecherswiller." The name was derived from Wicherswalde, a forest located near Friedberg in Bavaria where they hunted deer and other animals. In 1854, Verona became part of the newly created Vernon County, Wisconsin Territory. The first post office was established in 1855 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. The townspeople constructed a schoolhouse in 1857 and began to establish stores and businesses around that time. A railway arrived in 1862 and soon after there were numerous businesses opening up throughout the town with word getting out about this new transportation resource which allowed for increased commerce within the community. By 1870, business had grown so much that a courthouse had to be erected within the limits of Verona to accommodate its burgeoning population size! During World War II, Verona played an important role as an air base for American forces during Operation Overlord as well as providing support Functions such as evacuating civilians from Normandy beaches following Allied landings on June 6th 1944. Some locals even served aboard HMS Victory during her campaign against Japan’s Imperial Navy off Okinawa Island between March 1945- April 1946! In 1951, Vernonia voters passed a resolution ratifying incorporation into the then newly formed University of Wisconsin–Verona campus; however due to budget limitations UWV could not fully implement their plans for expansion until 1974 when they opened their doors to students from all over Wisconsin! Today, Verona continues to play an important role within local government with multiple committees meeting monthly at Town Hall which includes various aspects such as economic development planning/reviewing zoning changes etc.; ensuring social services are available when needed; fire prevention/fire suppression; public works; zoning regulations etc… This growing community offers residents plenty opportunities for variety including education (including college level courses), employment opportunities both locally & nationally through participating companies & organizations; shopping options including several large central retail anchors & independents along with excellent winegrowing capabilities thanks to its rich vineyards holdings by both individual winemakers (& larger commercial growers) & cooperatives….It should also be noted that many residents have relocated or moved away over time due to factors like job security etc.; but continue contribute generously financially (& emotionally) towards society through volunteerism., giving back more than one might expect given their modest incomes
Verona was founded in 1838 by John F. Stevens and his wife, Anna. The first post office opened in 1839. In 1853, the town became a city and was named for Verona, Italy. The population of Verona reached 100,000 in 1860. In 1865, the United States Congress passed the Morrill Act which provided for a land grant to be made to the town for its agricultural potential. The town erected a Carnegie library in 1903 and an art museum in 1911.
