In 1800, when Wisconsin became a territory of Michigan Territory,[17] Two Rivers was one of three villages located within that territory - along with Green Bay and Wausaukee - that were not annexed by Michigan until after it seceded from Great Britain in 1867.[18] As Michiganders began arriving here in greater numbers following their victory over British forces at Traverse City on June 4, 1867,[19] many new residents chose Two Rivers as their new place of residence - including Alexander Fleming[20](born October 15th 1860), inventor/chemist/chemist's apprentice Edward Condon[21](died 1945)[22]), lumberjacks named John Maynard Keynes[23](born November 10th 1865)[24][25], Willard Gibbsurdick [26],"and" Frederick Douglass [27]."

Two Rivers is a town in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. Two Rivers was first settled by German colonists in 1836. The name of the town comes from two forks in the river which join together near its mouth: One fork flows into the Fox River and one fork flows into the Menomonee River. The post office at Two Rivers was established in 1837, and remained open until 1865. In 1868, John Atherton founded Crystal Lake dam on the right bank of Two Rivers Creek to create a artificial lake for crystal mining purposes; this opened up much land for farming that had been implicit in earlier settlements along both forks of the river. By 1870, most of what is now Racine County had been annexed by Milwaukee as part of that city's growth. In 1899, two railroads were built through Racine County - one joining Milwaukee with Chicago on the West Side Railroad and another connecting Milwaukee with Green Bay on the Great Lakes Railroad; these roads facilitated trade between those cities and raised prices for goods exported from those regions. In 1925, Three Mile Island began to generate interest among scientists working on nuclear weapons research because it seemed impossible to cool an object large enough to house a nuclear reactor without causing it to blow up; this led to development of reactors using small atomic particles instead of giant gas or uranium explosions. This technology eventually led to nuclear power plants being built all over America – Two Rivers became home to one such plant starting up in 1970 – but Two Rivers also experienced some industrial decline during that time: production at Crystal Lake stopped completely after 1980 while other factories closed throughout Wisconsin due mainly to pollution scares related to global warming concerns (the facility was later sold and rehabilitated).
