Bipods are a type of foot-operated device that were first invented in Two Rivers, Wisconsin in the 1870s. They are used to elevate an individual off the ground and allow them greater mobility when walking or running. For a long time, scientists thought that this new form of locomotion was unique to humans but they soon discovered that it occurs in many other species of mammals as well (Norman 1993). Today, we understand that bipedalism has arisen multiple times throughout history and has been adapted specifically for different environments (Krause 2006). Some examples include the adaptation of bipedalism for running which allowed us to pursue prey more effectively than our predecessors (Liu et al. 2009), the development of tools which allow us To better exploit resources (Ucko 1990), and even evolving into some Of the most successful animal groups in terms of numbers and ecology (Greene 2003). Despite its importance, however, little is known about how bipedality arose or why it persists across so many different habitats. One possible explanation is that bipedality has been beneficial for humans because it allows us greater range when hunting or travelling through difficult terrain (Moses 2005; Stanley 2002; Ucko 1990). Additionally, due to its advantages during locomotion such as speed and agility, bipedality has led to human expansion across much of Eurasia and Africa over the last few millions years (Stanley 2002; Foley & Sussa 2003). Although there are many reasons why bipedality exists across so many different habitats, one important factor is still unknown: what led to its spread?
The Two Rivers community of Wisconsin was founded in 1836 by settlers from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The community became known for its lumber industry, and saw a rise in logging activity during the late 1800s. In 1915, two brothers named John and Clarence Olson started the Olson Lumber Company in Two Rivers. The company has been active in the town ever since.
Two Rivers is a small town in the far northwestern corner of Wisconsin. It is located on the Fox River and it was named after two rivers, the Mississippi and the Rock River. The population was 2,691 as of the 2010 census. The first settler in Two Rivers was John Goodrich, who arrived in 1841. Goodrich founded a log cabin on what is now State Highway 54. Goodrich's son, James W., built a more permanent home on land that later became part of Two Rivers Township. In 1853, Isaac Morse moved from Chicago to start a farm near what is now Interstate 94 and he named it Morse Place after his friend and business partner- Isaac Morse Sr.. In 1857, John Prentice established a tannery at what is nowState Highway 90 south of Two Rivers. By 1860, most of the townsite had been developed with residences, stores and an post office located at what is today State Highway 54 east of town. A school was built in 1865 by David Addison and operated until 1875 when it burned down. On November 15th, 1886 Three Mile Creek burst its banks creating a major flooding event which destroyed most of Oneida County including Oneida Township (later merged into Two Rivers) along with many other small communities within five miles radius including: Black Hawk (now known as South Holland), East Sixteen (now known as Sheboygan Falls), Harrisonburg (now known as Mukwonago), Jewett City (now known as Menomonee Falls), Mankato (now called Green Bay), Pewaukee (now known as West Allis), Sauk Rapids (now called Cheney) and White Earth Junction (- now Waukesha). The damage caused by this natural disaster totaled $136,- 000 . It took until 1893 for two important changes to happen in Two Rivers; firstly there were some people coming to help rebuild after the flooding such as Hiram Lowry who donated land for residential development; secondly there were also some businesses starting up which helped to revive local economy such as J C Smith's Hardware Store (+ Now Sheboygan Falls). Unfortunately another flood occurred in 1903 which caused yet more damage costing over $2 million dollars. This meant that even though things have generally improved since then – following examples set by Hiram Lowry - particular during World War II when both Bridgeport Dam (~ NOW Sheboygan Falls)and Prairie du Chien Dam (~ NOW Racine)were created - village life can still be quite difficult especially if you are not closely connected to either town or state government/local officials etc because they often rely ongenerated revenue from outside sources(such as hunting licenses etc.) rather than providing basic services like water/ sewer connections or maintaining roads

Two Rivers is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the western border of Green Bay and the eastern edge of Milwaukee County. The population was 1,452 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Waukesha-West Allis-Kewaunee Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settler in Two Rivers was Nicholas Neumann in 1825. He founded a log cabin on what is now State Street, near where it meets US Highway 12 today. A post office was established in Two Rivers on February 14, 1830, by George Leland with the name "Nicholas Neumann". The name "Two Rivers" originated from this location and not from any other two rivers near present day Two Rivers. In 1836, John Cushman built a cabin west of present day State Street on land that he donated to the town for $200 (). When settlers arrived in large numbers during the 1840s and 50s they started building log cabins and stores on what are now Center Park Drive and West Third Street (now North Fourth Avenue). This village began as a small community led by farmers who raised chickens, hogs, cattle and pigs until railroads came through town later that decade bringing industry with them which caused prices for many products to rise making manufacturing more affordable for everyone including local farmers who were no longer able to compete against larger companies looking for new markets outside of Wisconsin In 1851 Two Rivers had 2 frame churches with services offered each morning from 6:00am to 10:00am; one served as a school before Superintendent Luther Hahn took over when School District One merged into central government district in 1907 A post office called "Wausaukee" serving both towns opened at this time but soon became known as simply "Two Rivers." A fire destroyed most buildings in 1865 but during Reconstruction King's Chapel continued operations under difficult conditions with Reverend James Broughton acting as priest while his wife nursed children upstairs . The brick structure still stands today across from Community Bank east side parking lot
