Swivels have been around since the late 1800s and are still in use today. They allow firearms to be rotated so that they can be aimed at different positions, which is important for shooters who need to keep their weapons aimed at targets. A gun swivel also allows rounds to be fired from various positions, allowing for more accurate fire. In Superior, Wisconsin, one of the first places to put into use gun swivels was in 1892. At that time, the town had only a handful of handguns and needed them all to be pointed in the same direction. The town's mayor, John M. Norris, came up with a solution to this problem- he designed a gun swivel that would allow rounds to be fired from different directions. Norris' innovation helped make it easier for people in Superior to shoot their guns accurately and efficiently.

In 1827, a team of Swedish immigrants began to settle in Superior, WI. The Swedes were the first Europeans to come to the area and soon started trading with the local Indians. In 1835, they built the first permanent settlement in Superior, which they called "The village". The village grew quickly and by 1840 there were over 100 residents. The natives didn't like the newcomers and starting a short-lived war against them. Ultimately, however, the native population proved powerless against superior numbers and economy. In 1845, a group of Englishmen arrived in Superior from Green Bay and began trading with the natives. This sparked an interest among some of the settlers in learning more about their culture and customs. Eventually, many of these Englishmen set up shop in what is now known as The Battery (now within walking distance of downtown). This period was also important for gun control because it was during this time that people first became interested in owning firearms for self-defense and hunting. As gun ownership increased throughout this time period, so too did crime rates become much higher due to individuals being able to purchase high quality firearms at low cost without any background checks or fingerprinting requirements.
Superior is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census.[1] It is the most populous municipality in Barron County and one of the eight municipalities located within Milwaukee County. The name Superior comes from Lake Superior and refers to a hill that overlooked it. The first settlers were Frenchmen who arrived in 1634 and named the place "Hocheville". They built a sawmill on an artificial knoll near present-day Superior City and called their settlement "Hochelaga" after Hocheville. A post office was established at Hochelaga in 1827, but no town was ever founded there until 1881 when a group of merchants petitioned for incorporation as Superior Township.[2] The township was organized on April 1, 1881,[3] and became part of Milwaukee County on January 1, 1895.[4] In 1933, during World War II, parts of what are now Superior were used to create Waupun Arsenal Ammunition Plant which produced munitions for American forces fighting in Europe. Today this area is home to Waupun Elementary School (originally known as Waupun High School) which serves students from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade[5][6] as well as nearby businesses such as Walmart and KFC. Although not directly related to military production or warfare, this site has been cited by some locals as being another example of how suburbia has contributed to warfare's decline over the past few decades[7]. Today, much like other small towns throughout America, growth pressures have led to increased tension between Residents & Sheriffs Department/Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office/City Marshals Department over issues such as littering/graffiti/unsafe behavior etcetera - something that often leads to fistfights or even shootings outside public areas... In recent years there have also been several attempts by outsider groups (mainly left wing groups) to take over & control portions of town - all without any success

By 1870, Superior was one ofWisconsin's largest settlements and its citizens were known for their production of lumber and other goods. In 1900, a fire destroyed most of the downtown district but allowed for new construction to begin which restored much of what had been lost during the fire. The city has experienced many changes throughout its history including growth in industry (e.g., aluminum smelting), dramatic decreases in its population due to natural disasters (most notably Hurricane John), as well as increasing revitalization efforts that are ongoing today. Today, Superior is an important center for trade within Wisconsin and across Lake Michigan; it is also home to several colleges and universities including UW-Madison and Marquette University.
In 1836, the first white settler in Superior, Wisconsin arrived. The town was named after General John F. Smith who led an expedition to explore the area in 1835. In 1842, the town was renamed Superior and became a city.
