In 1948, American Optical Company Ltd., founded by J.D. Power & Co., started producing high-quality binoculars under the brand name “ Princeton” which was later changed to “Olympus”. Olympus soon became well known throughout the world for their quality products and continues to produce high-quality products today under their own brandname, Olyphanttophilia (or simply “O’). Over time, many companies have produced quality binoculars including Brownells Incorporated (makers of firearms), Nikon Corporation (manufacturer of optics equipment), Zeiss AG (manufacturer of lenses), Bushnell OpticsUSA Corporation (maker of spotting scopes) as well as Swarovski Semiconductor NV (makers of microscopes). Stoughton is a town in Green County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,851 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in what is now Stoughton were Nicholas and his family who arrived from New Hampshire about 1836. They built a Log House on the east side of the current town square in 1840. In 1846, John Fritsche bought land from Nicholas and laid out a village on it which was named for him, Fritschville. It had a post office from 1847 to 1865 and one store until it closed in 1903. In 1870, Isaac Wirth laid out another village on land he had acquired west of present-day Stoughton Village. It was called West Point but changed its name to East Valley after railroad construction stopped there in 1890. The first small school opened there in 1893. In 1902, the village merged with neighboring South Valley to form what is now Stoughton Village. During World War II many residents of the townships within Green County served in the military as part of various units located throughout the country such as Combat Infantry Battalion #3 (CIB-3), 507th Tank Battalion (507th TANK BN), 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment (511 PIR), 8th Engineer Aviation Company (8EC AC) and 498th Ordnance Airborne Division Headquarters Company (498 O&AHC). The majority of these residents also worked farm jobs during wartime since transportation was difficult or nonexistent outside of Green County due to wartime restrictions on travel and trade that lasted into peacetime. After the war ended most residents decided they would rather stay put and raise families than move again so several villages formed around this trend known as “The Residence District” which still exists today within Green County limits with private residences lining all four corners of Park Square downtown where businesses once thrived; bakeries, grocery stores, dry cleaners etc.. Unfortunately some people did decide to leave their homes behind because living near large city centers became too convenient for them or because other opportunities arose thanks to major technological advances such as air conditioning that made life much easier outside during summer heat waves etc.. Today Stoughton has three libraries: one public library system operated by Green County government; one independent library open to everyone providing books, music & video materials; and one charter library run by Friends of Libraries Incorporated which provides online access books & movies 24/7

Stoughton is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, about 20 miles (30 km) south of Milwaukee. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–Milwaukee Metropolitan Area. The first permanent settler in what became Stoughton was George Washington Carver, who came to the area in 1847 as an agricultural agent for Senator John Fenton and others working to create a new northwest United States territory. Carver developed a system of crop rotation that allowed farmers to save seed and use it again next year; this system spread throughout America and led to increased output on large farms. At one time, Stoughton had two banks: the First National Bank and the Milwaukee Trust Company. In 1893, when the former merged with the latter, both were given their current names by then-Governor Julius Kahn as part of a complex reorganization plan intended to improve bank accountability and prevent another Great Depression from developing. The town’s economy has been based largely on agriculture since its founding, although there have been some other smaller businesses established over time such as lumberjacks and sawmills; however, farming remains its primary focus today. A variety of crops are grown here including corn, beans (peas), potatoes, applesauce (grapefruit), wheat berries (a type of cereal), ginseng , dandelions and various flowers/fruits such as honeydew melons and plums
