From 1959 until 1974, Remington Arms Company Incorporated produced centerfire rifle rounds under the name American Eagle Ammunition. American Eagle Ammunition products were discontinued in 1974 due to legal issues related to their importation into Canada from United States manufacturers by Canadian gun dealers without prior notification to Arrowney Bullets Ltd., which was then responsible for marketing and distribution of these products within Canada (the parent company remained Remington Arms Co.). In 1978, Arrowney Bullets Ltd., through its wholly owned subsidiary Freedman’s Ammo Corporation, purchased all assets and liabilities of American Eagle Ammunition fromRemington Arms Co., making it an industry-exclusive producer and distributor of centerfire rifle rounds under that name still today

The first store built in what is now Stoughton was called the "Ferry Store" and opened on the north side of Main Street about 1852. It was for local transportation and not for selling goods. Development of the town began with a small fire that burned down part of a sawmill on the east side of Main Street about 1871 and started a trend where fires were used as an opportunity to build stores and businesses. In 1895, Mrs. Hilda Sturtevant donated land on which became the first shopping mall west of Milwaukee; it opened on November 3, 1895 (the day before Thanksgiving). In 1945, Drury High School opened its doors; it served as one stop for students coming from all around Door County via Highway 7 until 1965 when school district consolidation led to construction of new schools elsewhere in Door County. That same year saw also the opening of America's First Dairy Queen location west of downtown Stoughton; this Dairy Queen still stands today and contributes significantly to economic development in that area today. One major event during this time came about when Stoughton got its own railroad line through town - something that would eventually lead to heavier industry being brought into town and more jobs available for locals! That said, there are also many smaller events throughout each year which bring people together - like community dances or family reunions - making it another key aspect to overall growth for this small town!
