Over the years, River Falls has been home to many gun target ranges. These ranges have helped to add excitement and excitement to the city's popular summertime attractions. The first attempts atgunnery in River Falls were made in 1875 when a group of local men set up a shooting range on the hill behind the local church. The range was quickly abandoned due to lack of success. In 1911, river falls merchant and rifleman Halsey Akins purchased land east of downtown for a new rifle range. The range quickly became successful with its well-maintained soils and generous equipment rentals from vendors. In 1927, local banker Alonzo Weintraub donated some land off State Street in River Falls for a new pistol and revolver shooting gallery. This range quickly became one of the most popular in town with its comfortable surroundings and great views of downtown River Falls. The popularity of these ranges led to the founding of several other gun ranges across town such as the Rifle Range on State Street in 1931, the Pistol Range on Water Street in 1937, and finally, the Shotgun Range on First Avenue in 1951 which remains today one ofRiver Falls' most popular tourist destinations. Throughout these years, many different pistols and rifles have been used within these ranges making them an important part of Gun Target history!

River Falls is a city in and the county seat of Clark County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 21,593 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Racine Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what would become River Falls were two brothers, Samuel Alden and Solomon Alden, who came to the area in 1836. They built a log cabin on the west side of the creek that later became known as Alden's Brook. In 1839 they erected a small Greek Revival house on what is now North Main Street. The Aldens ran a general store and post office here from 1840 to 1845; their son-in-law, James Wickersham, also operated a bakery and hotel here from 1850 to 1860. By 1870 River Falls had developed into an important cultural center due to its fine educational institutions—the Mifflin Institute (now University of Wisconsin–River Falls), which opened in 1857; then called Racine Female Seminary; and Racine College (now UW-Wisconsin). In 1865 Jefferson Davis visited River Falls while he was attending Tuskegee University in Alabama; he was so impressed by its educational facilities that he ordered all future Ulysses S. Grant Presidential speeches be delivered here rather than over livewire telegraph lines because "This place ought not only to have our admiration but our respect." After Davis' visit River Falls enjoyed an economic boom thanks to heavy industry such as lumbering, transportation manufacturing, papermaking, shoe manufacturing, cattle raising and flour milling during the 1870s through 1910s; however starting around 1920 this prosperity slowly faded until it completely disappeared by 1930 according as Wisconsin entered into World War II with large quantities of munitions produced here. After World War II many factories closed down throughout northwestern Wisconsin due to unionization efforts among workers at those companies; this led to increased crime rates in River Falls as gangs took advantage of local gang members working for other businesses out of town. However beginning in the early 1990s river falls has begun experiencing revitalization with programming such as art walks/shows/vakings being held throughout summertime along with concerts and festivals throughout wintertime which brings people back into town for some much needed festivities

River Falls, Wisconsin is a town in the northeast corner of the state of Wisconsin. The population was 5,623 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay metropolitan area. The name "Falls" originates from the rapids that flow through it. The first settlers in what is now River Falls were French Canadian farmers who arrived in 1773 and founded a place called La Chute. They named their village after a waterfall on the Ottawa River which they saw while travelling. In 1836, John C. Briggs built a dam on the falls to create an irrigation ditch for his farm near present-day Appleton. The town was incorporated as a village in 1858, and became known as River Falls when its water supply was improved by Republican Ulysses S. Grant and James Kossuth during his administration as governor of Wisconsin in 1868-1869. In 1899, Arthur Ashe won his first professional tennis title at River Falls with a victory over Isidore Ewing in Roehampton Park Racecourse
Falls of the Wisconsin River are a Site of International significance for its archaeological and environmental value. The falls were created by the confluence of the Wisconsin and Ohio Rivers, which forms a natural limit to the area that was later annexed by Milwaukee. The falls have been a tourist attraction for centuries, with over 400 visitors per day reported in 1840. In 1871, when Milwaukee became an city, it built a dam at the falls to create Lake Michigan. As part of this project, engineers constructed a wall around the edges of the lake to prevent flooding from occurring from upstream. Today, Falls Park is one of downtown Milwaukee's most popular areas for recreation and education.
