In 1984, they introduced their first semi-automatic AR pistol called “M&P45” which used an 8mm barrel chambered in .45 ACP ammunition with performance similar to that of an AK47 upper receiver commercial version at that time! River Falls is a town in the rural northeast corner of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,486 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Racine metropolitan area. The main business districts are downtown and River Falls-West Allis. The falls were first mentioned in 1784 when Captain John Prentice wrote about a “stout current” that ran rapids below the falls and supported a large beaver pond. In 1834, James K. Polk visited River Falls while on his way to seek victory over Andrew Johnson in the presidential election that year. He ordered his army to cross the river at River Falls so he could view it from upstream without being seen by Johnson's men or captured by them. In 1857, two brothers named Moses and Solomon Davenport developed land near where the town now stands and began building homes there. In 1861, they built what is now known as Davenport Park on their property which became one of the largest parks in Wisconsin after it was annexed by River Falls in 1916. By 1870, some 1,500 people lived in River Falls; more than half of them were farmers who raise corn, wheat, soybeans and other crops on their properties along with hunting and fishing rights for walleye and other fish species around the falls. A sawmill operated here until 1887 when it was replaced by an electric plant that caused damage to the falls which stopped production entirely for many years thereafter In 1902 a dam was constructed across Coulee Creek stone-walled from downstream to create Lake Michigan through which power could be transmitted from downtown Milwaukee to various parts of southwest Wisconsin As development increased along Interstate 94 (now I-94W) eastward towards Racine County (then Cass County), most businesses moved out of downtown into newer neighborhoods such as River Falls West Allis beginning in 1949 although some stores remain open within walking distance of each other until this day After years of complaints about freeway noise pollution coming from neighboring communities such as Waukesha Township (to its south), Racine County created its own transportation agency called "Milwaukee Area Transportation Authority" or MATA in 1961 which eventually took over all bus service within city limits including those serving River Falls starting in 1970
The first Europeans to arrive in the area were French traders and fur hunters who came in 1763. The area was then part of the Dutch colony of New Netherland. In 1815, Wisconsin became a U.S. state and River Falls became its capital. The city was named for the falls, which are located about 12 miles southeast of Milwaukee on the former Racine County line.
