Richfield, Wisconsin is a town located in the Milwaukee County area of Wisconsin. The population was 43,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St.Paul metropolitan area. The first optical accessories store opened in Richfield in 1909 by Harry Kapp and his brother Julius Kapp. In 1922, Orville Bendix opened what is now called "Bendix Optical" in downtown Richfield and it remains one of the most important optical retailers in today's world. He served as president of JBL America from 1974 to 1992 and developed many products including Bluetooth headsets and home security systems for companies such as Comcast and Time Warner Cable. The company closed its doors for good in 2002 after years of battling financial problems related to globalization, changing consumer tastes, technology advancements and media consolidation across North America. During World War II, Richfield was home to several military airfields used by U.SAAF pilots training for war against Nazi Germany or Japan: Amherst Air Force Base (1941-1945), Greenwood Field (1946-1947), Green Bay Army Air Field (October 1942-May 1945), Waukesha AF (July 1944-April 1945) and Menomonee Falls AF (November 1943-August 1945). These bases were closed following the war but left behind large amounts of surplus equipment that would later be used by local businesses throughout the postwar period to rebuild their businesses following recessionary times during which industrial production collapsed nationwide due to technological advances brought about by World War II changes like mass production methods associated with radio broadcasting tubes that replaced handrolled paper stock making books into thin sheets on an assembly line). The name "Richfield" comes from a white oak tree that grew near the original town site. The first settler in Richfield was James Richardson in 1828. He and his family built a log cabin on what is now State Street. On July 15, 1830, Wm Hurd bought land from Richardson for $2 per acre (about $ today). Hurd named his new settlement "Richfeld". A post office was established at Richfeld in 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1846, John Fell began farming there and raised chickens as well as crops. His daughter Nora later married George Richards who also ran a farm there for many years before selling it to Harry Kappes in 1929. Kappes donated land to build the current high school which opened in 1951 and is now known as Richfield High School District # 21st Century Champions

Richfield is a small town in the central region of Wisconsin, United States. The population was 7,916 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Richfield was John Richardson in 1835. He and his family were the first to clear land around present-day Richfield Lake. In 1846, he and his brother-in-law, Adam Knoppers, founded a log cabin on the shores of Richfield Lake. A post office called Richardsonville was established in 1847, but it never served residents from Richfield proper; mail moved to Green Bay until 1865 when it was renamed Racine after Racine County seat at that time. In 1857, Isaac Sorensen arrived in what became Richfield from Appleton with his wife and three children. They established a farm south of present-day downtown Richfeldt on High Street which they named "Sorensen's Corner". After 1850, when railroads came through town and started serving northern Wisconsin communities east of Milwaukee (the so-called "Northern Railroad"), many farmers also began moving into Richfeldt or nearby towns such as Maytown and Beardstown to take advantage of railroad transportation to get their goods to market. The towns mushroomed as people journeyed north for work during the day and bought groceries and other needs at night before returning home eveningly or early morning for dinner. By 1900 there were over 1,000 people living in these townships – about one third of all residents in eastern Wisconsin – making them some ofWisconsin’s largest rural communities outside Milwaukee.[2] One important factor leading to this growth was education: by 1900 most families had sons who could do something useful with their lives because there was no need for menial labor on farms since good jobs had become available in cities like Milwaukee thanks to new technologies like heavy machinery that could be operated without human supervision during production years[3]. However even today some residents refer nostalgically back to days when life wasn't always easy just because starting out seemed more difficult than becoming an accomplished professional or technical figure like someone working at a company today due largely to advances made within our society while our predecessors simply didn't have access thereto/were forced off their land due economic reasons etc... After World War II ended things slowed down somewhat but not stopped; much later people realized how valuable it would be if technology stayed ahead so businesses grew slowly until computers took over most manufacturing processes which then led directly into service sector occupations where robots replaced humans everywhere pretty soon too! Although everyone seems happy now having ubiquitous machines doing all the grunt work...at least until somebody points out that those jobs don’t really require any skills anymore! Richfield was founded in 1836 by Isaac Rich and his wife Rebecca. It became a town in 1865. The population of Richfield was over 10,000 in 1900. In 1947, the town was merged with neighboring La Crosse to form the city of La Crosse.
