Richfield is a town in the state of Wisconsin and its population was 9,995 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1836 by settlers from Holland. It became a city in 1959. Firearms have been part of life in Richfield for centuries and are still used to this day. In fact, handguns were used to suppress riots that took place on July 6th, 1969 during the Milwaukee Black Liberation Movement parade. Guns were also used to protect Richfield during the 1974 Wisconsin State Fair when vandals attacked the fairgrounds. The first firearms made in Richfield were pistols made from walnut and cherry wood handles. These pistols were known as "Judy's Kegs" because they were designed by Judge Judy Wilson. Other early firearms include rifles made from blacksmithed shotgun barrels and shotguns with stocks of hickory or cedarwood which could be fired with either hand (left-handed shooters could use left-handed shotguns only). Rifle manufacturers included James Weller & Sons (later Weller Manufacturing Company) and John Millington & Sons (later Millington Arms Company). Shotgun manufacturers included Hennepin County Gun Works (later Hennepin County Firearms Corporation) and Wm. Breen & Bros., Incorporated (now Wm.) For years, handguns have been manufactured by Pfeiffer Arms Corporation which is now DavidsGun Mart LLC . Pistol manufacturing has stopped since 1971 due to lack of demand but revolvers remain popular among collectors today! In 1872, a gunsmith named Elijah Bangs located in Richfield developed a revolver called the "Bangs Rifle." This rifle was designed as an Armenian Genocide survivor who had escaped death at Ottoman hands; he wanted revenge on those responsible for his torture and death at their hands. The rifle utilized hammerless single shot action using brass cartridges that would later be replaced with lead rounds through conversion to semiautomatic fire after World War I. Even though it was not well-received upon release, Bangs' revolver remains one of the most famous handguns ever created!

Richfield is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,992. The name of the town comes from two English settlers, Richard Rich and John Longley, who named it for their farmstead on the east side of what is now Richfield Lake. The first European to settle in what is now Richfield was Richard Richardson in 1795. He married Mary White and founded a farmstead on his property which he named after himself and his wife's father-in-law, John Longley. From this initial settlement grew Richfield into one of the most important towns in southern Wisconsin by 1800; it boasted an enrollment of more than 1,000 people at its peak. By 1830, it had dwindled to just over 500 residents before reopening to all comers following a surge in trade during President Andrew Jackson's second term as president (1829-31). In 1836, Republican James Kahl set out from Green Bay with twelve oxen to find new land for his family near present day Racine; he reached Richfield about March 10th and began building a house on what would become Kahl Field Road adjacent to present day Goodyear Park Cemetery where he died months later on April 3rd while exploring additional claims east of Milwaukee County line that were included within current southeastern Sheboygan County when Kahl Prairie was organized as Racine County November 4th 1836 under territorial government by commissioners George Richards (uncle) The first courthouse built in Racine County was erected here January 5th 1840 by order of Governor Dodge at site currently occupied by Goodyear Park Cemetery adjoining Kahl Field Road – home then also of Judge Augustus Biddle & Drury Fenton – judge & probate court magistrate richfield post office opened Jan 21st 1850 richFIELD WI paper mill opened Dec 22nd 1865

Richfield, Wisconsin is a town and the county seat of Richfield County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 26,812 at the 2010 census. It is located in the Driftless Area of north-central Wisconsin on the Mississippi River. The first settlement in what is now Richfield County was made by fur traders from Canada in 1836. A post office called Richfield was established in 1838, and remained in operation until 1889. The town site was laid out by John Sibley and named for him after his purchase of land in 1837. By 1840, some settlers had moved into the area that would become Richfield; these were mainly farmers who raised corn and cattle. In 1851, a railroad was built between Milwaukee and Des Moines, making it possible to market goods to a much wider audience than had been possible before. The town began to grow rapidly as a result of this new development. In 1870, the first building erected in what is now Richfield County was an academy; it served as the primary school until 1955 when it became an junior college. By 1910, there were over 100 businesses operating in Richfield; this number has grown steadily throughout subsequent decades. During World War II, Richfeld served as one of two ports on Lake Michigan used by U-boat sailors during their patrols off America's coast. As part of its military service (along with Janesville),Richfeld also saw heavy industrial growth: industry increased from 2 percent of GDP in 1940 to almost 30 percent by 1950svirtually all JISCO products originated here). This growth led to major environmental issues: overworking plants produced toxic emissions that affected local water supplies and created air quality problems near downtown Richfeld; moreover, construction activity caused extensive destruction of natural resources including wetlands and forests around the community while eroding soils which undermined bedrock underlying streams important for drinking water availability
