Richfield, Wisconsin is a town in Walworth County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 656 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Eau Claire Metropolitan Area. The first settler in Richfield was John Hecker in 1833. The town was platted on December 12, 1836 by order of Governor David Burnett. A post office called Richfield had been established on December 13, 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on March 7, 1893. In 1870, a store and school were built near the junction of State Highway 54 and State Highway 169; both remain in use today. A second store and school were built in 1875 on land that now houses the Richfield Senior Center. In 1905, a section of what is now Waukesha County was annexed to Richfield; this area includes most of present-day Walworth County except for some small portions located within Menomonee Falls Township and Racine Township which are still part of Racine County. This paper will primarily focus on the history surrounding Richfield from its establishment as a small community to its current location within Walworth County and how it has changed over time with various development projects taking place nearby such as the construction of Interstate 94 or similar highway projects that have impacted local businesses and residents directly or indirectly. Additionally I will highlight some interesting facts about each individual building/location mentioned throughout this document as well as any other relevant historical information that may be applicable to my particular topic at hand.
As firearms technology has evolved, so too have the types of lights used to indicate when a firearm is loaded and firing. Up until the early 1800s, most handgun lights were simple oil lamps with no moving parts. By 1875, however, patent #1 was issued to Nicholas-Jacques Conte for a design that would become known as the "Conte Lamp." This light consisted of an elongated brass tube carrying an acetylene or gas burnerike device at one end. The other end was connected to a small battery or dynamo, which could be turned on or off by depressing a switch on the handle. It should be noted that this type of light was not actually built until after America's first gun duel in 1876. By 1889, patents had been issued for various designs featuring pivoting arms and revolving headlamps (the "Lampet" type) that could be rotated through 360 degrees (an improvement over earlier designs). In 1901, George Naylor patented an armory key ring pistol light that became widely available in 1912. The earliest version featured a metal disk with two holes bored into it and threaded onto either side of the barrel; when inserted into an associated barrel keyhole, the light would turn on and remain lit even when the weapon was unloaded.

Richfield is a small town in the state of Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,043 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–West Allis metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1827 by Nicholas Richfield and his family. He named it after his father,richard richfield Sr., who had been an early settler in this area. In 1851, Richfield became the county seat of Racine County. In 1872, James Fenton built a sawmill on the then-town's creek. That mill remains a prominent presence in town today; it has been owned and operated by the Fenton family since 1865. The mill produced lumber for buildings and other purposes until 1978 when it closed down due to declining demand. In recent years, however, there have been efforts to reopen the mill as a tourist attraction with some success so far Another important aspect of local history is its role as an educational center; beginning in 1876, Richfield became home to Racine County Technical College (now Racine County Community College). This college offered programs such as engineering and agriculture until 1985 when it merged with UW-Green Bay to form UW-GB. From here, education continued through distance learning until 1997 when racine county technical college closed its doors altogether and merged into GB's undergraduate program in information technology/computer science/software engineering/information systems It should be noted that not all aspects associated with local history are positive; during World War II many residents joined wartime service in various ways including working at military plants or filling up trucks driving across country
The town of Richfield was founded in 1847 by George H. Prentice and his family. The first post office was established in 1849, and the first store was built in 1850. In 1861, the town became a county seat, and the first sheriff was appointed in 1865. The population of Richfield grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s, resulting in many new buildings being erected. In 1907, Richfield became a city, and its first mayor was elected that year. The city held its first mayoral election that year, but no one won who had not already been elected as mayor of the Town of Richfield. In 1916, Richfield became a state capital; however, it remained a town until 1925 when it became a city again under the name of Richfield-Waukesha County Airport. As part of Wisconsin's process of joining the Union on January 1st (1917),Richfield-Waukesha County Airport become an integral part of Milwaukee; however, it reverted to its original name on November 30th (1925).
