Rifle scopes are a cherished item for many shooting enthusiasts. They provide the user with an excellent view of the target, making it easier to hit the desired spot on the target. Rifle scopes have been around since the early 1800s and were originally designed to be used with rifles that had a magnification of at least 18x. The first rifles that were able to use sniper-style optics had a magnification of at least 22x. At this level of magnification, shooters could see details on targets much beyond what they could see with smaller telescopes. However, due to their high price and bulky design, rifle scopes only became popular among wealthy individuals and military officers. In 1847, John Brownell patented his own version of a rifle scope called the “Brownells’ Telescope”. This scope was designed to be used with rifles that had a magnification of up to 25x or greater. This gave snipers and other long-range shooters an even better view of their targets than they ever could using smaller telescopes. However, because rifle scopes were so expensive compared to other types of optics, these types of users remained few and far between until the late 1800s when advances in technology made them more affordable for everyone else as well. With advancements in technology and better manufacturing techniques came new designs for Rifle Scopes including focusers and turrets which allowed shooters to adjust their sights manually instead of relying on an optical alignment system (such as Lee–Enfield). Platteville is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the eastern side of the Fox River and east of the city of Milwaukee. The population was 25,865 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–West Allis metropolitan area. The plat for Platteville was filed in 1836 and by 1840 it had a total population of 509 residents Platteville is named after General John A. Platte, who led an expedition through what is now western Wisconsin in 1818-19 when he traveled as part of a reconnaissance mission to explore new land routes westward from Illinois. He named his settlement for General George Crook, one of his assistants on this expedition. The first settler in Platteville was Abram Doolittle, who arrived in 1837 and started trading with Indians near present day Waukesha County. By 1840, there were ten settlers living in Platteville and its immediate vicinity- nine men and one woman; all were farmers or traders with some connection to local fur companies or transportationations such as wagon trains carrying goods to various points along the Great Lakes region. In 1850, platting began for what would become downtown Platteville which included most of today's buildings including City Hall (now known as Theisman Center), Pioneer Courthouse (now known as Racine Civic Center), American Legion Building (now known as Veterans Affairs Medical Center), Bank building (now known as FirstMerit Federal Credit Union), Methodist Episcopal Church building (now known as United Methodist Church at Mercy Unitarian Hemphill House) and Schoolhouse #2 around current day Third Street SW corner North Avenue NW which served grades 1-8 until 1917 when it became a Junior High school called Grades 9 - 12 South Side School before becoming Hennepin Technical High School between 1951-1975 before finally being closed down due to conversion into apartments above it beginning in 1975; currently ground floor apartments are used for retail use while first floor apartments are used for office space

Platteville, Wisconsin is a small town located in the northwest corner of Wisconsin. The population was 7,816 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1855 by pioneers who came from Illinois. Platteville became a city in 1956 and has since undergone many changes. It is home to the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, which offers degree programs in both education and business. The town also contains several businesses and restaurants that serve local cuisine and provide services such as lawn care, grocery shopping, and taxi service.
On July 5, 1873, a group of farmers and adventurers founded Platteville in the now-defunct town of Monroe. The name means "place where the water meets the earth." The town was founded on land that had been purchased from the Winnebago people by James P. Hersey and others. By 1875, Platteville had a population of around 100 people. The first post office in Platteville was established in 1876. In 1886, platteville became a city and began to grow rapidly with new construction and businesses coming online. By 1910, it had an estimated population of 2,500 people. In 1916, Platteville joined the Wisconsin statehood movement and became a part of the state of Wisconsin. The following year saw another rapid growth as businesses opened up in the city including several breweries and distilleries as well as warehouses for storage space for goods being exported to Europe. 2
