Pewaukee is a town in the Wisconsin state of Wisconsin. The population was 7,563 at the 2010 census. It is located in the Driftless Research Area. Pewaukee is one of eight towns in Racine County and one of four towns in Milwaukee County. The town was platted on February 15, 1836, by General James K. Polk as part of a grant to Abraham Lincoln from President Andrew Johnson. As part of Racine County, it members the town board with six trustees and has an elected mayor and nine-member select committee which makes all important decisions for the town. Pewaukee is located at (42.966849, -87.527859). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 6,898 people, 2,711 households, and 1,848 families residing in the town center; however this figure may rise or fall depending on how many people are counted who did not live within walking distance to their local library or post office because they still have property within driving distance; according to official statistics from 2018 there are now 953 residents living within 5 miles radius only….and therefore these figures would most likely be much higher if this number included those who lived close to work but didn’t have time to walk

Pewaukee is a town located in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,909 at the 2010 census. Pewaukee was originally founded by German immigrants in 1854. The original name of the town was "Waukesha." In 1907, the name of the town was changed to "Pewaukee" after George Pewaukee, an early settler. The current name is based on its location in central Wisconsin and its relationship to nearby Menomonee Falls. The first settlers in Pewaukee were Germans who arrived in 1854. They built a log cabin on the east bank of the Menomonee River and called their settlement Waukesha. Because they were not welcome in what is now Milwaukee County, they moved west to what is now Plymouth Township (now Racine) and named their new community Pewaukee after George Pewaukee, an early settler there. George Pewaukee had come from Germany several years earlier and his family had settled near Green Bay before moving to Milwaukee County in 1848. He own land along portions of today's Fox Point Road and Menomonee Falls Boulevard which he donated for development into a townsite that included homes, a schoolhouse and other infrastructure needed for village life. In 1907, when Pawtucket became part of Milwaukee COUNTY, it underwent another name change - this time to 'Pewaukee' after George Peweriau as part of the process of merging city/towns within county borders. A post office operated at Pawtucket from 1889 until 1959; however, because it was located inside city limits – outside of any rural areas – it never received regular mail service from downtown Milwaukee or De Pere; Consequently it ceased operations one week before its namesake town's centennial celebration! In 1901-1902 construction began on what would become known as 'The Park'. This park contained over two miles (3 km) of level ground with fine gardens suitable for home use or hosting public events such as horseback riding or picnics open to all residents regardless gender or race ‒ including women! While much later improvements were made including playgrounds and basketball court facilities (which remain today), The Park remains one of only a few remaining parks with such amenities available throughout entire Village District!! As further evidence that our commitment to quality green space continues strong even well after more than 50 years since groundbreaking…the current pavilion serving as both headquarters for Village District Parks & Recreation & overflow shelter during extreme weather conditions can be found just off Hwy 6A between Parkview Rd./Fox Point Rd & Valley View Dr./Menomonee Falls Blvd
