Onalaska is a small town in the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. It lies about thirty miles north of Milwaukee and fifty-six miles south of Green Bay. The population was 2,876 at the 2000 census. In 1892 Onalaska’s first gun store opened its doors. At that time, it was one of only a fewgun stores in the area. The Gun Store Swivels company was founded by Walter Wilkinson in 1892. Wilkinson had been born in Onalaska and had worked as an announcer on radio stations in the area before opening his own store. The Gun Store Swivels company produced a wide variety of guns including revolvers, shotguns, rifles and pistols. Our products were popular with hunters and fishermen who needed reliable firearms for their activities. The company also supplied ammunition to many local businesses and individuals throughout the years. In addition to our production capabilities, we also manufactured original designs for handguns such as the .22 caliber revolver called the “Pumpkin Pistol” which became very popular among farmers and others who needed an accurate handgun for hunting purposes or home defense purposes. In 1957, GunSwivel Corporation merged with Browning Arms Company to form Browning-Arsenal Corporation (BAR). At BAR we continued producing our wide variety of firearms including revolvers, shotguns, rifles and pistols along with ammunition supplies for local businesses and individual customers throughout America

A gun swivel is an accessory that can be used on a handgun or rifle to make it easier to hold onto the weapon. It has two arms that rotate around each other, which makes it more comfortable for the user. Gun swivels come in different sizes, from small enough to fit into a pocket, to large enough to be carried around with you all day long. Some people believe that without a gun swivel, it's harder for someone who is new to shooting firearms to learn how to shoot accurately. Additionally, some people feel that using a gun with a non-standard grip can be more difficult because it takes time and practice for the user to get their hand position right.Gunswitches have been found in guns dating back as early as 1790 AD when Dr John Brown patented his first revolver with an adjustable stock (This was before stocks were typically attached via screws). The company Brown & Stratton produced over 350 million rounds of ammunition between 1875-1920! Switches have also been found in Nazi helmets during World War II
The Onalaska rifle was a type of muzzleloader that used a swivel stock to aim the firearm. It was designed by Captain John A. Dickey in 1892 and first used by the Army in 1899. The rifle became popular with farmers and hunters, and saw use in both World Wars.
Onalaska is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,849 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Fremont metropolitan area. Onalaska was platted on February 17, 1851, by Elisha Gray and others under the name of "New Albion", after the city of Albion in Ontario, Canada. The first settler in Onalaska was Rufus Fenton who came from New London, Connecticut in 1839. He built a log cabin on what is now Main Street in 1841. Other early settlers were John Dooley (1840), Salmon Pritchard (1844), David Potter (1847), and Elijah Hodge (1848). In 1861, Daniel Tilton bought land east of present-day Main Street and laid out what are now several streets including Court Road and White Lake Boulevard. Mr. Tilton also erected a small schoolhouse which served as his home until 1909 when he moved to Menomonee FallsWisconsin where he continued to live until his death in 1973. In 1865 Josephine Cook married Jacob Cook who had come from Illinois with his family during the American Civil War. They located west of present day High School on section 8 of farm lot No 3 which they named Cook City after their mother's brother John Cook who fought for Confederate forces during the war but lost an arm at Battle Of Gettysburg outside Richmond Virginia on July 4th 1863 while leading elements of General Lee's army against Union forces commanded by Ulysses S Grant near Harper's Ferry Maryland on July 9th 1863; Josephine died childless four years later at age 44 following surgery for uterine cancer which metastasized to her brain and spinal cord; Jacob remarried Anna Trimble whom he met while working as a cooperator on their plantation where Anna worked as a domestic servant for them from 1868 until her death aged 53 years old after serving three terms as mayor of Onalaska; they had two children: Rosemarie born December 12th 1870 and Harry Truman born January 6th 1872 both natives of Onalaka JosephineCook died unmarried at age 78 years old followed by her daughter Anna Trimble Kappelstrom who married Roy Kappelstrom March 5th 1945 living stillborn daughter Alice Maynard Kappelstrom lives alone today 2 miles southwest away from original home
Gun Swivels have been around for many years, and there are many different types. Some people refer to them as “gun rotates” because they often rotate in the opposite direction of the gun barrel when you twist them. The first guns that had these swivels were made in 1851 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. They were designed to keep the barrels from rotating while being fired, and they worked well. However, over time, some people began to find that these swivels prevented the rounds from spinning down the barrel as quickly as they should have been able to. This caused jams and other problems with the firearms. In 1861, a company named Winchester introduced a new type of gun swivel called a breech block swivel. This swivel was designed to keep the barrels from rotating while being fired, but it also caused problems because it would not work with certain calibers of rounds (such as those used in handguns). As a result, it was replaced by the Gun Swivel Company’s new design in 1865. The old breech block swivel became known as the Jeffrey Model because its designer was named Jeffrey Jeffrey.

Onalaska, Wisconsin is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Wisconsin Metropolitan Area. The town was founded by Norwegian immigrants in 1847. The name Onalaska comes from a band of local Indians who lived in and around the area where it now stands. In 1855, Onalaska became the site of what was then one of the most important settlements on the Great Lakes region when Danish settlers arrived to found Racine, Wisconsin.. The first post office at Onalaska was established on November 5, 1857. It operated under the name White Rapids until it changed its name to Onalaska on January 1st, 1861. Onalaska has been mentioned regularly throughout American history as a center for trade with other parts of Northwestern America; during various periods it has been known as La Crosse or Fond du Lac (the latter being anglicized to Laddsdale). In December 1862 Captain John Aiken's brig USS "Rogue" encountered another vessel en route from Europe with goods bound for Buffalo harbor and stopped off shore near modern-day Menasha to take water and berth her there for repairs; he happened also to be on board Rogue at that time. While ashore he met two native women who told him about an Indian village nearby that they thought might be available for sale if he would purchase them as slaves; this story led Aiken eventually to purchase four Native women from their captors and free them in 1863. In 1865 General George Armstrong Custer's army crossed the Iowa River near present-day Waukesha and destroyed numerous Indian villages along its way before reaching Chicago; some sources say as many as 20 villages were destroyed including Onalaka which may have been one of these targets because its location made it easy for soldiers passing through on their way southward
Onalaska was a small settlement on the upper Kettle River in what is now Barron County, Wisconsin. It was founded by Danish immigrants in 1835, and became a town in 1851. Onalaska was renamed Menominee in 1865, after the Menominee people who had settled there before that.
