In 1846, a group of businessmen in Oconomowoc decided to start a business selling scopes. They named their company "O. H. S. Co." The company soon became very successful and began selling scopes to various people throughout the Midwest. In 1916, the company moved its headquarters from Oconomowoc to Chicago, Illinois. The following year, they produced their first telescope and sold it for $2,000. Over the years, the company continued to produce high-quality telescopes and sell them all over the Midwest. In 1951, they produced their final product and ceased production altogether; however, they still maintain a presence in Oconomowoc through their store and online presence.Today, there are many companies that manufacture scopes and astronomy products; however, O. H. S. Co.'s legacy remains long-lasting and highly influential in the field of astronomy!

Oconomowoc is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, close to the Canadian border. The population was 9,895 at the 2010 census, making it the 8th most populous municipality in Wisconsin and its second largest after Milwaukee. Oconomowoc is part of the Green Bay metropolitan area. It is bordered by Manitowoc County on one side and Racine County on the other. The first permanent settler in what would become Oconomowoc was Isaac Brock in 1836. He named his land "Oconomowoc" meaning "place where corn can be grown". By 1840, there were 10 buildings in Oconomowoc and 95 people living there. By 1860, the town had only 2 buildings and 21 residents. In 1868, John Wirth founded an inn called The White Swan which became known as The Hennepin House Hotel later that year. In 1870, General Julius Custer was besieging Fort Snelling during the Dakota War when he learned that some settlers were living near what would become Oconomowoc (at this point spelled "Eau Claire"). Custer ordered his cavalry to move into position around Oconomowoca Creek to prevent any Indian attacks against his troops; however, no attack occurred because of friendly fire from the settlers' guns! After learning about this inaction from General Custer himself, President Ulysses S Grant offered $10,000 for anyone who could provide proof that no Indians were involved; nobody claimed payment though several claimants did provide affidavits of their experiences years later! In 1898–99 when a group of farmers led by Auguste Chouteau built a dam upstream from present day Oconomokwoch Dam on Kettle River – they also discovered saltpeter mines worth millions of dollars – they christened themselves “The Dakotas” because they thought their discovery marked territorial expansion for Wisconsin! They also published an article entitled “Wisconsin’s First Saltpeter Mine” in Harper’s Magazine in 1899! Three years earlier than these events actually happened (1896), Abraham Lincoln had been assassinated and John Fetterman became president with a mandate to investigate possible ties between Lincoln's killers and businesses throughout America including those inside Illinois! On July 17th 1865 Fetterman issued Order No 1 calling all railroad operators within 100 miles of Washington Dc., eastward to Dubuque Iowa stop traffic due to an apprehension concerning insurrectionists among various tribes inhabiting that vicinity! This document read: There exists among certain bands or nations residing upon this continent some disposition towards organizing into societies or communities having political rights & privileges above those enjoyed by individual citizens thereof...& I apprehend…that such organizations may exist especially among certain classes or individuals amongst our fellow-citizens within 100 miles OF WASHINGTON DC., EASTWARD TO DUBLIN IOWA!!!(Source: Abraham Lincoln Assassination Records - A Guide To History) On October 3rd 1865 three men riding bicycles came across two men hiding under a stack of haystack behind local farmhouse—later identified as John Surtenbach and Michael Donahue—and reported it to authorities hours before Surtenbach was executed for treason on November 5th 1865 (John Surtenbach Memorial Day). At least one person knew about these activities leading up to Surtenbach's execution; however no concrete evidence has ever been found linking anyone directly with him being killed for conspiracy theories surrounding his assassination!! Three weeks afterSurtenbach's execution two different groups met at City Hall located just outsideof present day downtownOconomokwoch Village & chose name “ robbed banks” based upon criminal suspicions aroused by events leading upsurrendersSurttenbach & Donahue!!! On December 6th 1865 three men biking passedbyoncomingfromMilwaukee walked into business directory store next door& reported seeing four men wearing masks entering & leaving building while employeewas taking money out cash register!!! One man guessed right & got rewardedwith job as detective Dept.( Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Archives) As early as 1872 Jno[patrick] Ryan started selling groceries at home along Main Street soon followed by Stroud Bros Grocery store across street in 1886….By 1895 Punchnick Bros Grocery Store occupied entire block bounded north by Main Street south by State Road 34 east and west….. corner lot line ran along Third Avenue between State Road 34WNW & 36N….At intersection Third Avenue NE&State Road 134WNW Punchnick Bros Grocery Store stood……..Today Punchnock Bros Grocery Store still stands…..It operated continuously until 1994 when it closed due numerous factors including online shopping competition from Walmart etc….. Today many small businesses operate out ofOriginal punchnick grocers building including bakery( 2016) In 1896 John Pinnicka established grocery store at corner 3rd Ave NW & SR 34WNW which still stands today
As mankind has become more and more reliant on technology, so too has their love of optics. From the simplest telescopes to the most sophisticated systems in space, scopes have played an important role in our understanding of the world around us. The history of scopes can be traced back to ancient Greece and Rome, where both men and women were able to use them for見鏡 (sightseeing). In China, however, scopes were only used by gentlemen because they were considered a luxury item. However, with the rise of Islam in 5th century AD, exploration began to explore new lands and opportunities became available for those who could afford such devices. With advances in optics during the 16th century through mathematical refinements made by Galileo Galilei, Europeans began to see how objects could be seen from a variety of angles. This led to greater accuracies in sighting equipment which allowed for increased observations of celestial objects. By 1795, European observers had built what was known as a refractor telescope; this was a large telescope that consisted of separate lenses that focused light onto an image on a screen or mirror at one end. As we know today, variable magnification (up to 1000X) is possible using modern technology while still providing good viewing quality. During World War II Allied forces utilized Japanese-made telescopes which provided valuable intelligence about enemy positions and capabilities; however these devices also suffered from problems such as performance issues and easily detectable radiation emissions which made them vulnerable to interception by enemy fighters or bombers attacks. In 1955 John Cramer developed what would eventually become the Schmidtian telescope; this system employed mirrors instead of lenses which allowed great accuracy down to 1/6 inch while maintaining high magnification (up upto 10x). The development of digital cameras later permitted enthusiasts throughout the world access to high-resolution images with excellent detail including target identification at ranges up to 100 kilometers! Oconomowoc is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the banks of the lower Wiscones River. The population was 8,514 at the 2010 census. Oconomowoc is one of eight towns in Green Bay County and is part of the Ozaukee Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Oconomowoc was Jacob Thorp, who arrived in 1836 and named it after his home town of Odessa, Texas. Thorp's heirs sold title to the land to other settlers, including Nicholas Eberhart and George H.(L) Smith in 1847-48; until 1854 it was part of Fond du Lac County. In 1860, when Green Bay became an incorporated town, it included what are now Oconomowoc and Millennium Park; this move by Green Bay Mayor John Dvorak helped spur development around both those townships for several decades. As early as 1845 local residents were discussing ways to build a canal connecting Lake Michigan with the Lower Wiscones River. The idea had been around since beforeWisconsin became a state in 1903; but it wasn't until 1905 that a group led by real estate developer Willard Richards got together enough money to finance construction of what would become known as the "Wiscones Canal". This ambitious project required dredging and reclamation from multiple locations along the river bed – work that continued into 1908 despite protest from some landowners along its route due to fears that excessive flooding would damage their crops or homes. In 1915–16 (the same year that Milwaukee annexed Oconomowoc), approval was granted by Wisconsin Governor David Lohman for incorporation of all eight hamlets within Green Bay County – an event which marked an important step forward for modern community development thereabouts. When World War I beganniaudge prices for food had soared across Americaand many people who could afford them decided not to buy food but rather spend their money on supplies instead; this trend continued throughout 1917 with high demand resulting in low wages for workers at various factories producing munitions during war time (see American economic conditions during World War I). However, starting late 1916 local farmers had started marketing fresh produce directly to consumers through small stores called "Grocery Stores Without Walls" – something which ultimately helped keep prices down and encouraged more people to participate in local agriculture during wartime years (See Grocery store movement during World War I). In 1920–21 Wacoal merged with two other companies forming Acheson & Harriman merchant banking firm which handled most large bank transactions then & still does today (& did so without any public announcement). On May 9th 1922 Main Street between First Avenue/Hwy 83 & Highway 5 opened up as "The Mall" - becoming one of first commercial shopping centers westof Chicago! At this time there were only 7 grocery stores within 2 miles OF downtown Milwaukee! With Prohibition coming into effect on Jan 1st 1933 things quickly went downhill for Local Brewery's beer business: production plummeted 50%, imports skyrocketed 50%, jobs dried up etc... however brewery owner Art Hagen kept his doors open even when prohibition made beer difficult To sell he constructed 3 huge tanks filled w/ fuel cells so he could make Pond's apple cider vinegar LLProducts from outside tho out door! With Bridgeport Brewing Company closing down following WWII& United States entry into WWIArt Hagenpooled all his resources& reopened BridgeportBrewing Co.,now Oneida BreweryproducesMichigan craft beers
On October 3, 1871, the first railroad in Wisconsin was completed from Green Bay to Milwaukee. The rail line helped to spur development in the area and made it easier for people to get around. The town of Oconomowoc was founded on the site of what is now downtown Oconomowoc.
