She walked outside to see two men fighting inside a car parked near her building; one of those men had been shot four times in the chest! After getting help from another employee, Norma Jane chased down the shooters and took them into custody. They were eventually found guilty of attempted murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. In 1992, Tim Hickey bought an old Shotgun Shop across the street from where he now lives in Oak Creek Township. When Hickey started teaching people how to shoot with it in 1998, he noticed that many people were still using shotguns which left them open to accidental shootings because they couldn't grip either side of the weapon correctly. So Hickey started manufacturing his own firearm safety device called "Hickey's Hearing Protection Device" (HHPD). HHPD has been used by various police departments throughout Wisconsin since 2000 and has helped save countless lives including that of Mark Kappas when he was accidentally shot during a hunting tournament in 2001.

Oak Creek, Wisconsin is a small town in the Ozaukee County ofWisconsin. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It lies on the east bank of the Fox River and is bordered by Walworth County to the north and east, Racine County to the south, and Oneida County to the west. The first Europeans to come to Oak Creek were French traders in 1679. A post office was established here in 1836, and served until 1872. The first store building was built in 1845 by Wm. Henson. Oak Creek is located within Racine Township, which also includes one of Racine's largest manufacturing plants—the Milwaukee-based Jardin Rubber Company—and other large businesses such as Sears Roebuck & Co., Magnolia Paper Company, Herrick Brewery, Ford Motor Company (which manufactured many of its vehicles at their plant), and Hecker's Department Store. Oak Creek is a small town in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, United States. The population was 568 at the 2010 census. It is part of Green Bay County. The first settler in what would become Oak Creek was John Loder, who arrived in 1792. In 1836, James Crain and his family moved from Clear Lake to start a new life in what would become Oak Creek. By 1860, the community had grown to include 10 families and 120 individuals. In 1873, construction began on the railroad that would eventually serve as the backbone of Green Bay culture and economy. The town came into being when the tracks were built through its area and many people chose to live there because it was close to work and convenient for transportation. The development of Oak Creek led to increased trade with surrounding towns and villages which helped support the local economy until around 1920 when World War I interrupted those economic pursuits. Afterward, oak creek declined as a result of lack of jobs and infrastructure development throughout much of Green Bay County while other nearby communities took over most aspects of rural life such as commerce or education. That changed beginning in the late 20th century with an increase in auto production within Green Bay County which led to increased demand for goods manufactured here including lumber, furniture, vehicles, agricultural products etc.; also came an increase in traffic due largely to suburban growth within Highway/Highway 41 corridor west of town although some businesses closed during this time period due primarily to competition from more innovative startups located elsewhere within greater Milwaukee metropolitan area (e.g., Apple Inc.). Oakhurst attracted attention again following tornado damage that occurred on November 3rd 1998 which destroyed most business buildings within center strip mall; however majority store reopened relatively unscathed except for loss of glass frontage (though store manager estimated her losses at $250K). On December 12th 2000 after several years without any major news or developments regarding spate damages sustained by Shopping Center complex following severe thunderstorm; Mayor Tom Barrett announced plans for redevelopment project that included rebuilding all 8 stores inside structure plus significant expansion & renovation project outside structure - largest civic redevelopment project ever undertaken in village (phase 1) &Phase 2 will see addition of additional 3 large stores across street from original structures total acreage would be increased from current . Most importantly phase 2 will provide new public restrooms &CHEAPER STORES!
In 1836, the first permanent settlers in the area were Isaac Payne and his wife, Sarah. Payne named his land "Oak Creek" after a tree located near their home in Huntingdon County. The Payne family operated a tannery on their property until 1857 when they left to start anew in Waukesha County. The town of Oak Creek was founded on February 14, 1876 by J.B. Hennig and Fannie McCullough. It was originally called Winona because of the good soil thereabouts. The post office was established at Oak Creek on October 10, 1881, and remained open until it closed on July 13, 1911. On November 3, 1957 a school building was dedicated at Oak Creek by Mrs. Belle Cheney as part of the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds Eidolon celebration program which had been started by her husband Governor Earl Rayburn with her assistance some years earlier
