Neenah is a town in Green Bay County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,673 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Potawatomi word netenah which means "place where there is a large willow tree." Neenah has been organized as a village since 1854. The first permanent settler in what is now Neenah was Amos J. Fuller, who arrived on July 16, 1836. He and his family founded a cabin about two miles (3 km) east of present-day Neenah on the current site of Crystal Lake Road. Fuller's cabin served as the nucleus for what would become Neenah. A post office was established at Fuller's cabin on November 15, 1836, and operated until it was discontinued in 1861. A store and sawmill were built in early Neenah by John Cramer and others during the 1830s; they were destroyed by fire in 1865. The first school was built in 1838 by Abram Bicknell with materials provided by local farmers; it became known as 'the Indian School'. In 1840–1842 Captain George Stephenson led an expedition to Marquette Creek to explore land south of Green Bay that he believed could be used for growing corn andoultry; he purchased about three-quarters of an acre (1 hectare) near present-day NEENAH from Nicholas Klinefeldt for $5 per acre (0·86 m²). The town plat was filed September 10, 1844. In 1855–1857 James Fenton constructed a canal connecting Whitefish Creek with Lake Michigan through what is now eastern Sauk County; this canal gave rise to the name 'Whitefish' for much of northeastern Wisconsin after Fenton's company lost control of its construction project while being transported along the canal route overland to their destination near Chicago. When transportation became available over railroads after World War II, many people moved back into rural areas where roads had not yet been developed or when properties had been bought back by their original owners following prohibition efforts during that eraigation period known as 'The Great Migration'. Fenton's Canal Company reopened operations under new management late in 1957 with investors including advertising executive Floyd Tooletta before folding two years later due to economic difficulties brought on by deregulation initiatives within American industry throughout most of 1960s across all types businesses especially automotive production thereby putting an end to Indiana Jones movies made at Marquette Valley Studios outside Des Plaines, Illinois throughout those years finishing up just outside Milwaukee proper some 40 miles southwest from downtown Milwaukee proper also homeport for numerous other major companies such as Proctor & Gamble Co., Sears Roebuck & Co., Wernher COBB&Q Co., etc.) though continuing operations through 1967 primarily manufacturing electronic components/devices products mostly beside Cooperstown Cemetery west of town lying adjacent to Racine County line some 12 miles southeast from downtown Racine proper only one block northwest of Hwy 11 exit off I-94 Exit 134 Racine Falls Rd Racine WI 53501 phone 920 989 7703 FAX 920 989 7704

In 1849, an American scientist named George Stephenson developed a design for a rifle that could fire shot up through a tube into the heart of a target. This weapon was christened the " Stevens Rifle." The first handguns appeared in America around 1795. They were made of crude materials and generally had short barrel lengths and poor accuracy. However, they became very popular with law enforcement and militia forces as they were easy to use and allowed them to fire fast rounds without having to reload constantly. The first pistols were made from metal and wood and fired off single shots with no ability to hold a round in reserve. By 1825, most Americans had at least one firearm that could be used for hunting or self-defense.
Neenah is a town in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,814 at the 2010 census. Neenah is the economic and cultural center of the town. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. One of its nicknames is "The Granite City." The city was founded in 1836 by farmers from Green Bay who moved to what is now Neenah after finding a good place to live near the river that divided their county into two parts. The first settler in what would become Neenah was John Friese who built his house on current day Post Road in 1836. He and his family were some of the first people to come to this area and they became one of the most successful farmers in town early on. The Frieses would continue farming here until 1884 when they sold their land and moved to Green Bay where John Friese's grandson, George Friese, started a grocery store there which would eventually become one of Wisconsin's largest retailers. In 1916, local business man Harry Haggerty donated land for a high school which opened in 1922 as Waukesha County High School (later Waukesha Technical College). Today, WTAE-TV (CW) owns and operates WTAE-TV while KQED-TV (CBS) maintains responsibility for PBS member station WIBA-TV (NBC). The community also has its own hospital with Memorial Hermann Health System serving as both primary care physician and affiliate medical services provider; it also has an outpatient clinic120 miles away located at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee. In 1946, General Electric set up shop here when it merged with Westinghouse Electric Corporation creating NBCUniversal which then purchased GE's radio division including WPBT-AM/FM Radio Company from Adelphia Communications Corporation In 1984 NBCUniversal sold off WPBT Radio Company so that Clear Channel Communications could operate it as an independent station In 2006 Clear Channel merged with Time Warner Cable so that all TV stations owned by Time Warner were combined under one corporate umbrella After years of wrangling among multiple broadcasters about how best to use all those separate channels across various providers' systems WWJ-AM/FM had finally been surrendered effective January 1st 2007 becoming WCJB-(CW) simulcasting WWJ(WTNH)'s AM operations out of Newark Township outside Madison
