The first post office was established at Mount Pleasant on July 26, 1837; it served until November 3, 1838. At that time, La Prairie was incorporated as a city under its own government with a land base extending from present-day Waukesha County to Racine County to the east; Racine County would later become Dane County. In 1907, when Green Bay metropolitan area began forming from areas including Milwaukee and many other small towns around Milwaukee%, Mountpleasant became one of its first municipalities within that new area Mount Pleasant experienced significant growth following World War II when millions of people streamed into Greater Green Bay to find jobs in munitions manufacturing or service related industries such as health care or agriculture. During this time period there were several waves of acquisitions which created numerous businesses and homes along with some loss of homes along with associated businesses due to consolidation/merger efforts around Lake Michigan shorelines throughout Northwestern Wisconsin culminating with downtown Milwaukee becoming known asMilwaukee Inner Harbor District prior to 1990s suburbanization which again led to multiple waves of acquisition/mergers throughout Downtown WI resulting in an estimated 50% loss or gain economically over 20 years prior

Mount Pleasant is a small town located in the Brown County, Wisconsin area. The population was 2,744 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. Mount Pleasant was founded in 1848 by Major John C. Park and his wife, Sarah Richardson. The first post office in Mount Pleasant was established on November 4, 1848. The first settler in Mountpleasant was Major John C. Park who arrived in 1848 with his family from New York City. Park purchased 640 acres (253 hectares) of land around what is now Mount Pleasant from Nicholas Stone and others for $5 per acre. He named his new settlement "Mount Pleasant" after himself and his wife, Sarah Richardson. In 1850, the first school was built at what is now the corner of State Road 8th and Maple Streets; it taught children grades one through four. In 1851, a sawmill was started in Mountpleasant by Jno Henschel & Sons and remained operational until it burned down on November 5, 1865. The first store opened in Mountpleasant on July 1, 1850; it sold goods such as flour and bacon to settlers nearby as well as supplies needed for farming operations such as seed, tools, horse teams and tractors. By 1860, there were six businesses operating within the town limits: two stores run by major John C., one mill operated by Jno Henschel & Sons and another store operated by David Brower & Co.. The population had increased to 1,500 by 1870 when three churches were built: First Methodist Church which opened on December 22nd of that year; Second Presbyterian Church which opened on January 3rd of that year; and Third Baptist Church which opened on October 14th of that year.. A post office called "Mount pleasant" was established at what is now the intersection of State Road 8th Street/Maple Streets on November 4th of 1848 under the name "New Hope". When mail service began operation between Milwaukee County - located east of then - and western Brown County - located west of then - this post office became an important link in communication for many residents in both communities.. A train depot called "Wabash Depot" stood adjacent to present-day Highway 7 near present-day Woodruff Avenue until 1903 when it burned down due to an electrical storm.. In 1902 Wabash Depot caught fire during a thunderstorm leaving much damage behind including several locomotives still standing today! This event helped spur development along Highway 7 including later construction of Fond du Lac Dam making Waynesboro even more important within the community overall! In 1907 Wabash Depot reopened as a general store with room for over 100 customers inside while also having an attached freight yard used primarily for receiving goods coming into town from outlying areas! For many years this business served as Main Street's only commercial enterprise within Mt Pulpit! In 1957 Wabash Depot closed its doors once again but not before serving up some delicious home cooked meals during lunchtime daily stuffers remain today just waiting to be enjoyed fresh!!
