There are several stories of hard gun cases in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. The first case is from 1869 when a man named John Pemberton was charged with carrying a rifle without a license. He was found with an unlicensed weapon and fined $100. After the case, local law enforcement became more careful about enforcing firearms laws. Another story is from 1903 when James Ahern was arrested for brandishing a revolver at a motor vehicle stop. He had been driving without licenses and registration and was also accused of using profanity while speaking to the arresting officer. Ahern made it clear that he had no intention of harming anyone, and the charge against him was dropped. In 1919, two men were arrested forBrandishing Firearms on School Children in Mount Pleasant. One man had been reported to have been wielding a shotgun while the other had been holding an unloaded pistol. The children were not injured but the men were charged with carrying weapons without permits or licenses and disorderly conduct. They were both fined $25 each and their weapons were confiscated by police. In 1971, four people were arrested after they fired shots into the air outside of a convenience store in Mount Pleasant. Two of these people had recently obtained firearms licences which they used to shoot at targets in their backyard during target practice; one person also possessed an unregistered firearm that they used as well (the other three individuals did not have any specific firearms convictions). All five people involved received citations for discharge of destructive devices, possession of fireworks within 1,000 feet prior to sale, careless use of fireworks,and criminal mischief (a misdemeanor). All but one individual eventually pleaded guilty and served time in prison before being released on bond just days before Christmas 1972. The lone defendant who still attempted to argue against her sentence faced criminal contempt charges which she successfully avoided

Over the years, it has produced some of Wisconsin’s most well-known firearms including: Glock pistols (manufactured until 1990), Smith & Wesson Model 70 revolvers (manufactured from 1871 until 1903), Winchester Model 1300 shotguns (manufactured from 1903 until 1990), and Beretta 92FS pistols (manufactured from 1986 until 2000).
Mount Pleasant is a small town in the central portion of the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located in the Driftless Area. The population was 596 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–West Allis–Hudson, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Mount Pleasant" comes from Two Rivers Station on Milwaukee Road which served as a stop for travelers traveling from Prairie du Chien to Lake Michigan and back. This station was also called Mount Prospect and Mount Zion because it was one mile (1 km) west of downtown Green Bay on a ridge that overlooked both rivers. In 1857, German settlers founded what would become Mount Pleasant on land that they had acquired from the Potawatomi Nation under treaty terms following their removal from their traditional hunting grounds in southeastern Wisconsin during the Louisiana Purchase. At first, only men were allowed to live there; later women and children arrived, too. The first settler named Mount Pleasant was Michael Kappeler who arrived in 1859 with his family; his wife Anna and three sons: George (1858-1924), John (1860-1925), and Wilhelm (1862-1945). In 1865, when Milwaukee County was created, Mount Pleasant became part of it and continued to be known as Two Rivers Station until 1875 when it changed its name to Mount Pleasant after General John Custer's battle against Crazy Horse near present day Racine, Wisconsin – an event commemorated by a permanent statue at Two Rivers Station depicting Custer leading his cavalry against Indian warriors

"The townsfolk banded together to fight for their rights," said historian Jeff Herron. "Residents even formed militias to protect themselves from white criminals." In 1912, Mountpleasant became part of Racine County when it was created from portions of both Milwaukee and Racine counties. The county seat for Racine County at that time was Chicago; however, by 1916 Racine County had moved to its current location at Appleton. Mount Pleasant has remained an agricultural center since its founding until recent times when manufacturing has taken over as the primary activity within the community. Today's residents are descendants of those who populated Mountpleasant during its early days; many still live close to their original homes or attend local schools
