It was changed to the Mount Pleasant Rifle and Pistol Club on February 14, 1893. On December 2, 1893, the club changed its name to the Mount Pleasant Rifle and Pistol Association-Mount Pleasant Branch. The branch was renamed again on November 30, 1895 to the Mount Pleasant Rifle and Pistol Club-West Side Branch. The West Side Branch was renamed again in 1898 to the Mount Pleasant Rifle and Pistol Club-Mount Pleasant East Branch. In 1907, the club changed its name once more to the American Legion Gun Clubs of Wisconsin Incorporated-.

Mount Pleasant is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It was founded in 1839 by Nicholas and Anna Wirth, who named it for their home on Mount Pleasant Hill, which they had seen from their farmhouse. The first settler in what is now Mount Pleasant was Nicholas Wirth, who arrived in 1839 with his family from Germany. He built a log cabin on the hill that he and his wife Anna soon renamed Mount Pleasant Hill after seeing it from their farmhouse on the other side of the creek. Nicholas also helped to found nearby Delafield and La Crosse counties and served as one of their first governors. During the American Civil War (1861-1865), Mountpleasant sided with the Union army against Abraham Lincoln's Confederate forces. When federal troops began raids into northwestern Wisconsin during that conflict, many residents decided to flee to Canada or Illinois rather than fight for the Union side. Many others moved back when hostilities ended two years later, but Nicholas and Anna continued to live there until her death in 1865 at age 93 years old; her husband followed suit three year later at age 96 years old. Mountpleasant experienced some rapid growth following World War II due to its location near Interstate 94 and its role as an agricultural center; however, economic decline has since resumed there. The population reached 859 persons as of 2010 according to US Census data; this number has decreased slightly over the past decade due largely to population loss associated with various natural disasters such as flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 or wildfires that swept through parts of central Wisconsin in late 2014 and early 2015). The only development withinmount pleasant over this time period have been new homes built by out-of-town developers looking for higher land values close to I-94 (although these have sharply declined since then).
