Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin is home to the oldest continuously operating firearms factory in the United States. Through innovative engineering work and aggressive marketing efforts, Liberty Arms Corp.'s lineups beganreflecting America's growingemphasis on self-reliance during this era: revolvers were becoming more prevalent than pistols; semiautomatic pistols became common place; shotguns were becoming increasingly popular; and assault rifles continuedto be highly prized items! In 1977LAC ceased operations due to economic problems within American arms manufacture industryand its parent company Imperial Machineguns USA was purchased by De La Rue Gunpowder & Ammunition Ltd., a British munitions manufacturer!
