Hispanic or Latino residents made up 3% of all inhabitants according to this data; however they constituted 10% of all housing units and 5% of all payroll employment.[2] The median income for a household in the town was $44,063,[3] and the median income for a family was $53,313.[4] Males had a median income of $31,079 versus $21,667 for females. The per capita income for the town was $19,859.[5] There were 813 households out of which 397 (30%) had children underthe ageof 18 living with them., 514 (35%) had two or more children underthe ageof 18 living with them., and 207 (15%)were single parents with no husband present.[6][7]

Mequon is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 2,834 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area and is located on the north-central shore of Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. Mequon was founded in 1837 by German immigrants as a fur trading post on the Menomonee River. The name derived from meadow meaning "place where flowers grow." The post office was first established in 1839 and renamed Mequon in 1854 after John Dutton, an early settler who donated land for the town hall and other buildings. Mequon has been home to several colleges and universities, including UW–Milwaukee, UW–Madison, Marquette University, Northwestern University, and Lehigh University; it is also the location of one of two terminals for Amtrak's Northeast Corridor division (the other being Kenosha). A major employer in Mequon since its founding has been Allis-Chalmers Corporation which manufactures agricultural equipment including tractors and combines; it now employs over 4,000 people worldwide across fifteen factories in thirteen countries. In recent years Mequon has seen a number of development projects related to its history such as a new downtown arena that opened in 2009 that seats 6,500 spectators; a museum dedicated to local history & culture called "The Things That Made Us"; addition of an arts & cultural district complete with galleries & restaurants within walking distance of each other known as "The Brick District"; renovation/upgrade to all extant public schools includingMiddle School-K-12th grade through high school; construction of three new police stations totaling 1650 square feet each inside existing businesses adjacent to each other near I-94 exit #2 (renamed Town Hall Square); installation of large LED displays throughout entire downtown zone chronicling Mayor Murphy's tenure from his inauguration until his death on November 3rd 2013 thru January 20th 2020.; renovation/upgrade to nearly all business properties along State Street between First Avenue North & County Line Road - formerly known as "the heart" or "commercial center" - viz., Sears Tower (now Weiland Plaza), Ford dealership (now Gascoyne Place) - rebranded as MEQUON CENTER STREET DEALERSHIP - JAGGARD PLAZA; completion/installation[of] large exterior mural depicting community life throughout entire town& inner city [area]...
Mequon is a town in and the county seat of Mequon County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,914 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The first white person to settle in this area was John Pohl, who arrived in 1834. He built a cabin on the banks of the Menominee River. Other early settlers included George Horseshoe and Daniel Ducharme. In 1843, John Ladd bought land from David Starr King for $1,000 and began developing it into a town. Ladd named his new settlement after General Andrew Jackson's father-in-law, Major General James Kapp (1763–1847). The first store opened in 1845. By 1870, there were eighteen stores and seventy-six residents in what would become Mequon. In 1872, Messrs. Copley & Biddle founded their own grocery store and post office here which remains open to this day as Stater Bros./Mequon Post Office & Grocery."
