T-shirts are a long and rich history in Mequon, Wisconsin. The town was founded in 1871 by John F. Kennedy and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. It is known for its manufacturing of firearms, ammunition, and other items related to the shooting sports. In 1919, the town merged with neighboring Racine to form Mequon-Racine County. The county courthouse still stands today and is used as a public library. The first firearm manufacturer in Mequon was Pardee's Gun Works, which opened in 1871. That same year, the towns of Racine and Mequon merged to form Mequon-Racine County. Pardee's Manufacturing closed its doors in 1919 due to competition from Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester). In 1927, Smith & Wesson Corporation began production at their current location on Racine Street in Mequon. That same year, the National Rifle Association (NRA) formed a chapter in Mequon and began selling NRA t-shirts there. Today, Smith & Wesson remains one of the most significant manufacturers of firearms worldwide within the NRA organization. In 1949, Alcoa purchased Pardee's Gun Works from its founder John Finkenberg Sr.. That same year saw the introduction of what is now known as "the Milwaukee Model 86". This rifle became popular among farmers and law enforcement officers because it could be conversions into carbines that fired revolver rounds instead of rifle rounds. As carbines became more popular among civilians, they were also introduced into military service by various countries throughout World War II as part of an effort to give weapons to allies before they went into battle against Nazi Germany or Japan. The popularity of handguns eventually outstripped those for rifles within America so much that Smith & Wesson decided to discontinue production on their handguns in 1969 after producing over 150 million pistols during their tenure with Alcoa alone! However, interest in handgun production has continued through Alcoa's ownership by Cerberus Capital Management LP since then; including new incarnations such as revolvers designed for concealed Carry purposes!

Mequon is a town in Richland County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,524 at the 2010 census. Mequon has been the home of the Mequon Arsenal and Infantry Armory since 1849. It was also one of five towns in Racine County to form Racine annexed into Milwaukee on February 3, 1847. The area that is now Mequon was first settled by German farmers in 1836. The name "Mequon" comes from an Ojibwe word meaning "place where there are no trees." In 1839 the two largest landowners in Racine County were Isaac Haas and Lewis Cass; they donated land for a public school and farming colony called Menomonee Falls (later Quincy). On December 12, 1840 Menomonee Falls became a town when it was granted its own charter from the Wisconsin General Assembly. At first it consisted of just 20 people: 10 men and 10 women who built homes and stores around what is now Main Street. On October 8, 1850 the first armory for Racine County was founded at what is now Park Road Southwest in Mequon by Captain George Patton with help from Lieutenant Abraham Lincoln; thisarmory served as the county’s primary means of defense until 1895 when a new courthouse and jail were constructed downtown. The ox carts used to transport goods between Menomonee Falls and Racine were very important during early American history because they could not be pulled by horses or motor vehicles; rather they had to be pushed by men using poles set up along either side of the road. This practice continued until after World War II when gasoline-powered cars became popular and then trucks started arriving soon afterward. The original village located on west side of present day Main Street east of US Highway 43 remains today as a small community known as West Side Village which straddles both sides of that highway just south of Center Avenue intersection near Interstate 44 exit number 5B - about 1 mile west of current day I-44 & US Highway 43 junction

This action helped increase business opportunities for locals as well as attract more tourists to Milwaukee who were visiting what was then an agricultural center. During World War II, Mequon served as an important military installation because of its location close to Lake Michigan and its ability to produce naval munitions from cheese products produced at nearby factories
