The Menasha scopes company was founded in 1892 by Hiram Menasha and his son, George. The company produced a wide variety of hunting and fishing optics, including binoculars, microscopes, and telescopes. The Menasha scopes were well known for their quality and durability. In 1922, the company merged with Chicago-based Wernher & Sons Optical Company to form the Hiram Menasha Corporation. In 1954, the corporation changed its name to American Optics Corporation. American Optics continued production of hunting and fishing optics until it ceased operations in 1984.

Menasha, Wisconsin is a small town in the northern part of the state of Wisconsin. The population was 3,811 as of the 2010 census. It is located in Outagamie County. Menasha is home to the Menasha Pioneer Museum and Park and the Menasha Municipal Airport. The first European settlers in what would become Menasha were Frenchmen who arrived on horseback from Canada in 1833. They built a log cabin on a bluff overlooking Clear Lake and named it Loretteville. In 1834, an American teamster by the name of Dodge discovered coal near Loretteville and began mining for gold. By 1840, Menasha had 2 stores, 6 families, and numerous piecemeal holdings that produced potatoes, eggs, flour, butter, cheese, lumber (logs), cattle ( steer) and agricultural products such as hay and oats. In 1845 when land was purchased from Drury at $10 per acre ($ today), menaced with railway construction just east of town they decided to stay put Some local activists bought 10 acres adjoining the railroad right-of-way which became known as Chestnut Hill until it was sold to John Fetterman in 1865 for $2 per acre ($ today). This clearedings were later used for farming or other purposes before being re-developed into present day Menasha Township where Fetterman's property now stands. A post office called Menasha was established in 1846 but closed two years later due to lack of mail volume; however an act of Congress created Post Offices within Indian Territory so this did not count against its closure date The first store opened at 5 cents per pound ($ Today) on November 1st 1847 under Newcomer & Knight . For many years there was only one grocery store open during daylight hours; however this changed around 1870 when Gillett Bros., Marshall Bros., & Co opened up their own store with a bakery upstairs which continued until 1976 when it closed down because it could not compete with larger stores opening up all over town An early settler also responsible for founding what would become Menasha Township was Isaac Newton who came across some lands south of town while scouting out new land grants about 1830 or so and homesteaded there about 1840/41 He then acquired more lots including those east of Main Street between Third Avenue NW&NW Second Street NE beginning about 1850/51 His heirs continue to hold title thereto through present day: Isaac Newton Estates Company LLC

Menasha is a town in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,869 at the 2010 census. Menasha is part of the Green Bay–Milwaukee metropolitan area. The first settler in Menasha was John Prentice. He and his wife Anna settled on a farm near the present day intersection of Washington and State Streets in 1836. In 1848, James Fenton bought the land from Prentice and founded the City of Menasha as a town under the name of "Fentonville". In 1870, Menasha became an incorporated village when it merged with Village of Racine to form Racine Township. In 1896 Menasha annexed portions of neighboring townships including Milwaukee Township and Watertown Township to form La Crosse County. In 1898, Menasha established its own school system which grew into what is now known as Marquette School District #2 (MSD#2). The current high school building was built in 1907 on land donated by Mrs. Gertrude Jenson McAfee, daughter of wealthy industrialist George Aiken McAfee Sr.. The old high school building served as storage for MSD#2 until 1984 when it was replaced by the current facility which is located on Main Street adjacent to North Park Elementary School. The city's first library opened in 1893 and currently serves as the district's main library branch with over 12 million items holdings including books, music CDs, videotapes, DVDs etc. The city also operates a number of other municipal services such as parks maintenance/upkeep/landscaping etc., recycling programs for all materials accepted within the city limits including paper products along with providing fire prevention services through Hillsboro Fire Department #1 which covers much OF central WI with jurisdiction over menasha & parts or all or most portions of la Crosse county
Menasha was founded in 1855 by Isaac Menasha, a German-born fur trader. The town grew rapidly, and by 1870 it had a population of 2,000. In 1877, Menasha became the county seat of Racine County.
