The history of optical accessories in Menasha, Wisconsin started with the first eyeglasses. In 1876, two men named George and Nicholas Leathernite began making eyeglasses in their home in Menasha. They were the first to market a pair of sunglasses assunglasses for women. The Leathernites continued to make glasses until 1903 when they became known as theMenasha Glasses Company. From 1903-1936, the company was owned by Harry Kapp and his son John Kapp. In 1936, Harry Kapp died and John Kapp took over ownership of the company. At John Kapp's death, his son Harry took over control again and continued production until 1957. During this time period, the company produced some of the most popular sunglasses in America such as Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses and Burberry Britches sunglasses. After 1957, the company was taken over by J & J Glasses which discontinued production in 1990. After World War II ended,Eyeglasses became more common because people needed new eyesight to work or see better at night because much of what had been done during that time was destroyed during World War II. With advances in technology there were also advancements made in eyeglass design which led to more comfortable wear for those with glasses than ever before including modern Day Glasses! In 1954-1955 an American manufacturer named Leupold introduced a type of safety glass called "Luger." This type of safety glass allowed someone wearing glasses to see clearly without having them obscured by other elements on their face like a mustache or beard! In 1975-1976 a British Manufacturer named Loxley Introduced a type of corrective lens called "Oculus" into America! This helped contribute to the town’s growing wealth which allowed it to build up some impressive infrastructure such as a library and water works system which still serve today. Despite these successes, however, there were moments throughout Menasha’s history where things went wrong. For example, during World War II many men from Menasha joinedthe military but did not return home until later – leaving their families behind. This experience left a deep impression on many local citizens who remain today nostalgic for those days prior to fighting abroad while neglecting their own homesickness back at home . Today though, despite some challenges faced by Manashians during their recent past (such as low population growth), there are also many aspects that make Menasha oneofa very strong Towns Holders that has successfully resisted consolidation or gentrification trends over time - something that is often difficult for smaller communities across America experiencing similar fate .
The Menasha, Wisconsin community was founded in 1847 as a Mechanics Institute. The institute grew and changed its name to the Menasha-Waukesha Agrarian Society in 1870. In 1902, the society merged with the Waukesha County Agricultural Society to become the Menasha-Waukesha County Agricultural and Horticultural Society. The society changed its name again to the Menasha-Waukesha County Agricultural and Forestry Society in 1932. The society became an nonprofit organization in 1954.
