The Menasha Knife Company was started in 1892 by eight men who incorporated as a limited liability company. The company made and sold knives, Axes and other hand tools. In 1915, the company moved to its current location on Main Street in Menasha. In 1951, the company became part of the Sears Roebuck & Co. family of companies.

Menasha, Wisconsin is a town in Janesville County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,575 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Elyria Metropolitan Statistical Area. Menasha is located on the Fox River. The first permanent settler in Menasha was John Fetterman who arrived in 1846. The town was named after Menasha Creek which flows through it. In 1868, Menasha had a post office and two stores but no schools or churches. A new building for the local school was built in 1870 and named Township Hall by then-Mayor Isaac Oakeson with help from $1,000 raised by locals. In 1876, Hennepin County assumed jurisdiction over Janesville County and menasha became one of its townships. On November 3, 1907, the name of Menasha township was changed to Janesville to reflect its incorporation into the county as a whole rather than as an independent township under Hennepin County control. On October 1st of every year since 1978 there has been a "Festival of Trees" which takes place at Park Avenue Park on Saturday during beautiful fall weather with games for children ages 4-10 years old including Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest/Pumpkin Patch painting contest and more!

Menasha is a town in Green County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,406 at the 2000 census. Menasha was founded in 1852 by Nathan P. Dickey and is named after Menasha Creek which flows through the town. The original post office was established in 1855. The first settlers to Menasha were Levi Brown and his family from Massachusetts who arrived in 1851. They built a log cabin on the western bank of Menasha Creek. A later settler, John Ewing, also built a cabin on the creek and named it Ewingville after himself and his son Ebenezer (Ebenezer) Ewing Sr., who had come to America with his father. In 1857, John Wurtz bought land at the head of Menasha Creek from John Ewing for $200 cash. He began to develop it into a town by forming a company with others and building a sawmill thereon. His neighbor James Cavanaugh soon followed suit and purchased some of Wurtz's land as well. By 1860, both men had erected their buildings in what is now downtown Menasha - the first store being built on Main Street north of Water Street east of US-36 (now State Highway 20). There were only 10 residents in Menasha when it incorporated as a village under Act No.. 992 on November 5th, 1865 When WI became an state in 1889 all villages except one within each county were dissolved and replaced by townships with single purpose Levy Valuation Districts #2 through 7 . As part of this consolidation process Village #1 reverted back to its former status as an unincorporated community located just outside of downtown Menasha near State Highway 20 & Water Street In 1923 following the creation of Racine County line there was yet another reorganization among local governments effected through Act No.. 283 which provided that all villages within each Racine County line would be reorganized into Townsships with single purpose Levy Valuation Districts #5 through 8 . In order for this reorganization to take effectVillage #1 reverted back once again as an unincorporated community located just outside of downtown Menasca near US-36 & WaterStreet In 1969 following passage of Assembly Bill 972 which established Milwaukee County we experienced yet another reorganization among local governments effected through Act No.. 463 which provided that all villages within each Milwaukee County line would be reorganized into Townships with single purpose Levy Valuation Districts #3 though 6 This time around however Village #1 did not revert back but remained an unincorporated community located just outsideof downtown menasa near US- 36 &WaterStreet therefore ending any hope that it might finally become part of DowntownMenasa

The Menasha, Wisconsin townsite was first settled in 1855 by the Chippewa people. The name Menasha is derived from the Ojibwe word mani-gawa meaning "meadow of the great White Willow." The town site was surveyed by Captain John S. Perry in 1856 and named for General George Armstrong Custer who had died in battle two years earlier. In 1870, Menasha became a census town and was renamed Menasha, WI after James Fenton Menasha, a United States Senator from Illinois.
