The Menasha Rifle Club was organized in 1892 and the first meeting was held on July 1, 1892. The club became a rifle shooting society and changed its name to the Menasha Rifle Association in 1912. In 1916, the organization moved to its current location at 1004 W Main Street.
Menasha is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 792 at the 2010 census. The Menasha-Milton Municipal Airport is located in the town. The first white settlers of Menasha arrived in 1837 and built a log cabin on the east side of the river. They named their settlement Menasha after their home town of Milton, Ontario, Canada. In 1845, a group of Swedish immigrants settled near Menasha and started to farm land. In 1870, a post office was established in Menasha and the name was changed to Milton. The first store opened in 1872 and by 1880 there were five businesses operating in Menasha. The railroad came through Menasha in 1887 and by 1889 the local paper mill had been built. By 1900 there were twenty-one businesses with 2,000 employees locally. In 1915, when World War I began, many men from around Wisconsin enlisted for military service and many jobs became available as war factories turned out weapons that would help win the war. On September 3rd of that year (the day after America entered World War I), President Woodrow Wilson signed into law United States Act No 108–15 which created the National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) at Suwanee River Naval Shipyard so that American industry could be diverted for wartime production without calling up Americans to go to fight abroad; this act also authorized construction of additional Navy vessels at Suwanee River Naval Shipyard specifically for NDRF use In 1935, when President Franklin D Roosevelt signed into law Public Law 89–390 known as "The National Defense Education Act" it authorizes schools across America to provide instruction about arms control and munitions storage techniques during what would become known as "The Great Depression". This legislation helped create American capitalism's response to world depression while simultaneously teaching students about how capitalism works On October 10th 1940 (Door County's centennial), voters approved an issue proposition on election ballots asking if they want To accept annexation by Wisconsin of Racine County resulting in an increase population size from 1,521 residents at 2000 Census counted to 3,851 residents including 447 citizens living within Fort Atkinson Township which now makes up most of present day Menasha
