Menasha, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. Menasha is located in the Driftless Area of south-central Michigan County and is part of the Chicago Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Menasha were those who moved from what is now Dodge City, Kansas Territory in 1873 when American Andrew Gregg settled there with his family. In 1899, Menasha was platted as a town by David Senechal and George Matson and named for General Winfield Scott Hancock’s hometown, Menasha, Kansas. The first post office was established in 1903. In 1951, men (and women) over the age of 50 became eligible to vote without having to serve a full term or pay an election fee; this made Menasha one of first towns to offer voting rights to all citizens regardless of race or sex. On December 1st 1916 during World War I United States Marines landed on the shores of Menasha after being ordered by Admiral John Jellicoe to bomb German shipping off Holland Island because they believed that any such action would help break up enemy morale and encourage support for Allied forces fighting on the front lines.. After three hours long bombardment no targets were found but marines killed 11 civilians including five children who had been playing inside a house near shoreline which gave rise to confusion as many thought their parents had taken shelter there from shells falling nearby). The article goes on to say "the uttermost atrocity that could have befallen any human community" as it created public outcry throughout America against military actions at that time This event helped start what would eventually become known as "The Vietnam War". In 1922 Menasha became an unincorporated community when it merged with neighboring Plymouth Township forming Plymouth-Menasha Union School District No 714 (#714 until 1961). On October 1st 1957 following passage of legislation creating Kenosha County (itself formed from parts of Milwaukee County), both communities -Menasha & Plymouth Township - seceded from Kenosha County effective October 1 st . As per county ordinance they reorganized themselves into their present form with Plymouth Township continuing as their hometown while Menasha became its new name . Although most residents still refer to themselves as "Plymouth-Menasha Union School District 714ers" today most officials within that district are listed under their current Full Name rather than their previous name due justifications like historical DNA research has revealed some items or people within that community have since passed away ). On July 3rd 2017 during Tax Day celebrations Manasarashers celebrated by burning US $100 bills each starting at 10am local time which raised about $4000 for local charities

Menasha is a town in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. Menasha is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1836 by Matthias Herr and his family. In 1841, Menasha became the first settlement west of the Mississippi River to be chartered as a village. It was named after Menasha Creek which flowed through its territory. Menasha's first post office opened in 1849. The town was incorporated as a village in 1875 and again as a town in 1907. As of the 2010 census, Menasha had a total population of 2,059 residents. The men who led and created Menasha are buried there at Resthaven Cemetery on Deerfield Road east of town. Among them are Matthias Herr (1836-1911), Chauncey Hennepin (1839-1920), John Larkin (1840-1920), George Ahern (1842-1915), Michael Sheboygan (1799-1868) and Augustus Buehler (1800-68).
Menasha was founded by the Menasha and Racine Railroad in 1881. The railroad connected Menasha with Racine, Wisconsin. The Menasha Golf Course opened in 1923. In 1984, the Menasha-Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce merged with the Milwaukee-based chamber group to form the Milwaukee Metropolitan Guild.
