The Menasha Rifle & Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The club grew rapidly and by 1914 had a library, rifle ranges, and pistol range. In 1916, the Menasha Rifle & Pistol Club voted to become an incorporated society with a board of directors. The society continued to grow and by 1933 it had a clubhouse, rifle ranges, and pistol range. In 1935 the Menasha Rifle & Pistol Club became an organization chartered under theWisconsin State Constitution as a “firearm manufacturers” society. The society held its first meeting in this new form and elected its first president who was Wm Hance. In 1941- 1942 the Menasha Rifle & Pistol Club donated $2,500 to create the Wm Hance gun fund which continues to support programs at the Society today. During World War II the Society produced over 4,000 rifles for military use including guns used in combat in Europe and Asia Pacific Theater of Operations

The population was 5,859 at the 2010 census. The town was founded by Germans in 1847 as Menasha am Rhein. The name means "menacing river" in German. In 1919, Menasha became part of the United States and it changed its name to Menasha after being granted city status by the US government on July 1, 1919. Today, Menasha is known for its agricultural products such as cheese, apples, cornmeal and flour; its scenic beauty; and its strong community spirit. The town has a wide variety of cultural events that include annual festivals and concerts. A primary industry in Menasha is agriculture which continues to be an important part of the community’s economy today. More than 60% of menasha’s employment comes from agriculture including 10% within the Agriculture Department which oversees more than $1 billion worth of agricultural programs statewide

Menasha is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located in Menasha County. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. The first white people to come to Menasha were German immigrants who arrived in 1847 and built a log cabin on the west side of the river. In 1856, naturalist Edward Thorndike visited Menasha and wrote about it in his book "A Voyage Round America". He called it "a pretty village nestled among tall trees, with a beautiful stream running through it." In 1907, Menasha became an incorporated town when its three villages amalgamated. It was named for General John Fetterman, who had served in the Union army during the American Civil War and as commander of Fort Snelling on Lake Superior. In 1912, Menasha Post Office opened as part of a program by then-Wisconsin Governor John Mapes to promote rural post offices across the state. The post office was renamed Menasha after General Fetterman's home town in Germany where he had been born in 1814. In 1925, Menasha began construction on what would become its first high school which opened in 1927 and later became known as Waupaca High School. The school also hosted a summer basketball camp each year from 1933 until 1935 which helped build relationships between Boys Town and Waupaca High School that continue today. In 1939, Women’s League Basketball champion Milwaukee completed an all-star game against Red Oak High School (now North Central Community College) at Assembly Hall downtown because local businesses refused to provide seating for women due to their “ladylike appearance” according to one report).
