Amtrak also built a bridge over the Cedar River into Marshfield to connect with their Pennsylvania Railroad line there. In 1990, Marshfield had just under 1,000 residents; however by 2000 it had more than 5,000 residents due to new housing developments along Interstate 94 and other highways that were constructed in that decade around the town center. In recent years, development around downtown has continued as well with plans for a shopping mall/office park being developed on land adjacent to Main Street near where High School used to be located before it was moved across I-94 to become part of an interstate highway expansion project. Marshfield is home to several schools including East High School which was once one of America's largest high Schools but now enrolls students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade only; Marshall Middle School which serves students grades 7-12; West Side Intermediate School which serves students Grades 3-8; South Side Elementary School which serves students Grades K-5 only; North Side Elementary School which serves students Grades 6-8; as well as Parkview Baptist Church—a megachurch affiliated with Liberty University—which is situated on a large tract of land across from High school where worship services are held every day except Fridays for church members who attend other churches nearby or during special events like football games or baseball tournaments at local stadiums all weekend long!

Marshfield is a town in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,859 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1854 by Captain John Marsh and his family. It was named after Colonel James A. Marsh of the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment. In 1875, Marshfield schools were moved to Racine and the town became part of that city. The first post office in Marshfield was established on November 1, 1854, by Capt. John Marsh and opened for business on December 3. The first store in this community was built by Capt. John Marsh and his brother-in-law Solomon Hirsch on a lot near the present day intersection of State Road 535 and Park Avenue N.W.. This store served as a base for many early businesses in this community including the grocery store operated by Isaac Griesbach from 1865 to 1870 which became known as "the Griesbach Store." In 1875, when Marshfield schools were moved to Racine from their original location on Main Street (then called First Avenue), Lt Col James A. Marsh donated land east of Ninth street for use as a school district campus with an initial enrollment of thirty students which included eight boys and fourteen girls! The first school building erected in marshfield was a two story frame structure located on what is now School Lane just north of US Highway 34 between Third Street and Fourth Street NW This building served as our primary school until 1961 when we replaced it with our current elementary/middle school building which also serves as our high school today! Our current elementary/middle school building dates back to 1957! In addition to serving as our primary or middle school buildings up until 1961 we also had an annex or second floor that housed our science programs which occupied space upstairs until 1978 when we relocated all these programs downstairs into one large new classroom facility that you can see today across from Administration Building on Sixth Street NW!"
The town of Marshfield was founded in 1855 by Rev. John P. Marsh and his family. The town was named for Reverend John P. Marsh, the founder of the Lutheran Church in America in Milwaukee. The first post office was opened in Marshfield on November 24, 1855. In 1865, the town became a cooperative society with a population of 100 residents. In 1870, the population rose to 150 and by 1880 it had reached 200 people. In 1910, the population stood at 300 people and by 1920 it had increased to 350 people. By 1930, the population had reached 400 people and by 1940 it had reached 500 people. The community experienced several surges in its population throughout its history; during World War II (1939-1945), when there were 1,500 residents; during the early 1960s when there were 1,800 residents; during the late 1990s when there were 2,000 residents; and again during the 2000s when there are 3,000 residents
