The history of knives in Marshfield, Wisconsin goes back to 1847. The first knife shop in Marshfield was operated by a group of men under the name of the Knife and Tool Company. This company sold knives, tools, axes, and other fishing equipment. In 1862, a new store was opened by Reverend J.F.Watson with a store front that featured two large blades on either side of an entablature above the door. The store continued to be open until it closed in 1932. At this time, there were five stores in town - three of which still operate today as businesses - and the other two were converted into residences. In 1867, George Chipperfield opened a grocery store at 522 Wabash Avenue. This store continued to be open until it closed in 1951. From 1865 through 1922, Isaac Sanger operated a bakery at 12 Niles Street (later renamed Abraham & Isaac). This business continued to be open until 1951 also. In 1927, Ira Weisberger opened his own grocery store at 608 Wabash Avenue - this business continues to be run today as Weiser's Grocery Corporation. In 1935, Walter Hickey opened his own grocery store at 604 Wabash Avenue - this business continues to be run today as Hickey's Gourmet Market Incorporated. In 1942-1945 John Lacy started operating an ice cream parlor at 601 Wabash Avenue from which he managed to establish himself as one of the leading entrepreneurs in Marshfield during that time period (he also founded the Lacy Dairy). In 1954-1955 Revolver Riffe moved into town from Stowe and began operating what would become one of downtownMarshfield's most popular nightlife venues – The Riffe Inn – which he ran until its closure in 1984 following several years of trouble related thereto (the inn was eventually replaced by Renaissance Place Casino Ltd.). This brings us up to date on knife ownership within town limits for those decades!

Marshfield is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha metropolitan area. The first people to move into Marshfield were the Kapp family in 1851. The community was named for General James Hammond (1784-1855), who served as President Ulysses S. Grant's adjutant general during the American Civil War and as military governor of Illinois during Reconstruction. The town started out as a small farming village on the east side of the Fox River, about northeast of Milwaukee proper. In 1875, Marshfield incorporated as a city with a population of 781. However, this Cityhood status did not last long; on December 10, 1895 it merged with Waukesha to form Milwaukee County.[1] In 1892, Denny and Louie Auerbach built an early cotton gin in what is now downtown Marshfield for their own use and processing cotton from their fields along the Fox River near present day State Fair Park Boulevard and White Road (now 14th Street). This helped make Marshfield one of America's most important "cotton towns" – until recently raw cotton had to be processed in other countries before being shipped back home to be used in manufactured items like clothing or automobile parts. The first rail line reached Marshall Field's property northwest of town on November 3rd, 1876 when the Milwaukee Road added a branch from its main line just north of Racine.[2] At first it transported goods only upriver; by 1886 there was also a branch downriver to Green Bay! But passenger service ended on May 9th 1889 when locomotives became too expensive to maintain due to increased competition from automobiles – never again would somebody connectMilwaukee with Racine so quickly! In 1903-04 when Interstate 95 was built through much of southwest Wisconsin,[3][4] Marshall Field’s land lay southbound between I-94/Uptown Marquette Avenue and I-94/Niles Drive (now Hwy 463) just east of Highway 41 which ran concurrent with US 1 north then east across Racine Creek into northwestern WI almost reachingMilwaukee proper before turning southeastward towards Buffalo Grove where it intersected I-794/Eddy Stroud Rd outside Menasha then continuing southeast past Sheboygan Falls onto US 83 North which crossed Cayuga Lake into Michigan

Marshfield, Wisconsin is a small town located in the Town of Marshfield, Calumet County, Illinois. The population was 573 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town began as a farming community on the south side of the Fox River in 1847. A sawmill and grist mill were built there in 1850; and a flour mill was started in 1851 by John W. Granger. In 1865, a post office was established here; and in 1872, it became a city. In 1902, Maurice Jorgenson opened an ice cream parlor here which became one of the most popular tourist attractions in town until its closure in 1983 due to pollution problems caused by heavy industry near the local schools. The main street through town has been named after Maurice Jorgenson since that time. The first church services were held here on October 1st, 1847 with Reverend James Grieve officiating.
