Marshfield is a small town in the town of Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,790 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Racine metropolitan area. The first settler in Marshfield was David Beer on November 3, 1836. Beer and his family moved to the area from Hennepin County, Minnesota. In 1840, John Butz settled on a farm west of Marshfield and became one of the first farmers in what is now Marshfield Township. In 1854, Levi Dickinson bought land east of present-day Marshfield and built a home there called Dickinson's Farmstead. This community grew into what is now downtown Marshfield. In 1872, Isaac Nesbit organized a group of farmers to purchase 2200 acres (10 km2) west of present-day Marshalltown for $4 per acre ($). This became known as nucleus marshfield because it developed into this size and shape over time. The first store opened here in 1881 by Arent Grosse with merchandise brought over on delivery teams from Milwaukee and other cities during the early years when transportation was not as easy as it is today. During World War II many people who lived near Marshfield worked at Waukesha Arsenal or other government plants located nearby such as Cook Air Force Base which manufactured military planes; however few people know about this history because most people only know about Marshfield’s role in World War II through its connection to Green Bay Packers football players like center Don Hutson (1924-2007), linebacker Curly Lambeau (1899-1977), cornerback Norm Snead (1920-1996) and safety Alan Waters (born 1950). Many local boys also served their country during World War II including Sgt.( Pvt.) Darrell “Dirty Dave” Kappenheimer who fought in Europe with Company C/1st Battalion/5th Infantry Regiment serving until May 1945; Corporal Dale Wehner who fought from Normandy until he got back stateside on July 25th 1945; Sergeant Randall Beale who served with Company D/3rd Battalion/101st Airborne Division until he got back stateside on September 15th 1945 after being captured by Japanese forces while fighting against them at Okinawa; Corporal Merrill Clousey who served with Company I/7th Cavalry Regiment until he got back stateside on February 1st 1946 after being captured by the North Koreans while fighting against them at Chosin Reservoir outside Pyongyang; Specialist 4 Phillip Jankowski who served with Headquarters Battery /115th Field Artillery Battalion active duty at Fort Riley Kansas before discharge January 10th 1957 after completing his tour there then working for Geiger Corp., Van Meter Co., Allis Chalmers Mfg., etc.; private First Class Hal Welshman Jr./USMC Vietnam veteran born October 20TH 1951 in Wausau thatserved tours between 1973 - 1980; Private First Class Neil Ratcliffe USAF veteran born December 7TH 1960 thatserved tours between 1984 - 1990 all without getting any recognition from anyone except fellow servicemen that are still living locally today

Marshfield is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 9,526 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cook County and the largest city in the Chicago metropolitan area. Marshfield is also home to Northwestern University. The first European settlers in what would become Marshfield were Frenchmen who arrived on a ship called "Le Boeuf" in 1773. They named their settlement after Maurice de la Vallière, Duke of Chartres, which led to some confusion as different people referred to this same person with different names over time. In 1836, Anna Maria Hesseltine moved from Berrien Springs, Michigan to be near her brother-in-law John Pritzker's family and began trading goods with them. She named her new business post office Hesseltine's Store after him because he had been so helpful during her early years as a trader in that part of the country. By 1847, many of these early settlers had moved away or died and construction on what would become Marshfield started under new leadership including Wm.[1][2] In 1853 William Farnsworth built a mill on the present site of Northwestern University; it became one of the most important mills in town for many years due to its ability to produce flour for local markets and export outside of Illinois. The building still stands today next to Northwestern University's main campus on North Lawndale Avenue just east of downtown marshfield. The mill was also used as an opera house before being sold off and converted into apartments in 1973/74 by developer Harry Burdick Jr.. There are several small blocks surrounding it still standing from when this part of town was lined with old mill buildings dating back to those early days! In 1868 Charles Goodyear founded Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company here while working for his father at a tannery near West Dundee Road and Highway 53 (now Lake Shore Drive). He originally leased land north of Union Station but soon bought additional land south where he established his company headquarters until 1924 when he relocated again due to growing competition from other tire companies across America. After World War II goodyear opened up production plants all over America especially around Detroit giving rise to what is now known as goodyear center City within downtown marshfield! Today Goodyear continues its operations outgrew their original factory facility however they do maintain an active presence within downtown marshfield via their storefronts located inside Northwestern University!
