In the early 1800s, Little Chute was a thriving settlement in the area that now contains Milwaukee. The town was founded by German immigrants in 1824, and it soon became an important center for gun culture. Gunsmiths and traders were instrumental in developingLittle Chute as a center for airguns manufacturing. By 1840, Little Chute had become one of the most important airgun communities in Wisconsin. Airguns first came into popularity in the United States during the late 19th century. At that time, there were few restrictions on how people could own firearms, so airguns quickly became popular among hunters and target shooters. The first successful commercial airgun production took place in 1892 when a group of Americans established the Browning Rifle Company in Hartford, Connecticut. That company produced several types of firearms including rifle pistols and shotguns using machine guns called breech-loading rifles. The popularity of airguns continued to grow throughout the 20th century. In 1937, Congress passed the National Firearms Act which banned many types of firearms including handguns and airguns from being possessed by citizens without a license from government officials. This law effectively ended gun culture in America and ushered in a new era of prohibitionism which lasted until 1970. However, despite these efforts at regulation, gun violence remained high throughout much of the 20th century due to mass shootings involving gunmen with access to assault rifles or other high-powered weapons. As a result, Congress began considering various methods to reduce gun violence beginning in the 1990s but never succeeded fully until more recent times when bans on assault rifles have been repealed nationwide

Little Chute, Wisconsin is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 1,743 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Wyoming, MI Micropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1879 by George and Anna Haggerty as a small agricultural settlement on the east side of Little Chute Creek. Its name comes from its location upstream from the larger village of Chute on Big Lake. In 1892, Little Chute became an incorporated town under the name of Muzinburg after David Muzin, who helped found Grand Rapids and served as its first mayor. The post office closed in 1957 but remains open as a museum with exhibits on local history and pioneer life. Today, Little Chute features a variety of retail businesses including a gas station/convenience store (opened in 1984), two restaurants (one opened in 1987 and another in 2003), one business park (opened in 2002), three churches (St John's Lutheran Church with facilities dating back to 1886, First Baptist Church with services beginning in 1865 and Methodist First United Methodist Church built 1893), two schools: North Central High School which opened in 1923 and South Central High School which opened in 1978; one health care provider; one branch library (the Kapp Family Branch Library open since 1971); four water systems: One for residents only; One served by Okemos Municipal Utility District #2; One jointly operated by Muzinburg Township & Muskegon Heights Township #1; Another shared with other townships around the area including West Muskegon Heights Township & Michigander City Township #2

Little Chute is a small town in the town of Dodge City, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 498 at the 2000 census. The community was founded in 1857 by settlers from Tennessee and Kentucky. Little Chute is located on the east side of Dodge City and has a KOIN-TV station which serves as its primary local television broadcaster. The first post office in Little Chute was established on October 6, 1857, by Fayetteville Township residents John Crouch and James Mumphrey. The name of the community was derived from nearby French Creek which served as its main watercourse. In 1859, Little Chute had a population of 30 people and it became an agricultural center with land holdings that included: two miles (3 km) of railroad track to the south; several thousand acres (100 km2) of forested land to the north; and five or six sawmills and other mills situated around French Creek. In 1861, Little Chute's first school was organized with 10 pupils taught by Mrs. Grafton until she moved away to take up a teaching position at West Dodge City School District #1. That same year, state legislators granted township trusteeship to both Dodge City and French Creek Township so that these communities could establish their own governments within their respective townships without having to go through the lengthy process of being apportioned through territorial legislatures into Indian Territory under President Abraham Lincoln's Executive Order 9293 dated January 8, 1862. Located just off U S Route 16 heading eastward from Chicago towards Milwaukee County on what then were part of Hollandale Township (now Polk County), French Creek Township initially consisted only of a few farmsteads scattered among rolling countryside along Dutch Lake before it grew rapidly when U S Highway 16 itself crossed Frenchman Lake about midway between present day Dodge City and Dutch Lake in 1968 becoming known as "the highway that ran through there." With U S 16 passing through town limits much earlier than any other major regional artery – including Interstate 94 now nationally known as I-94 – french creek township quickly evolved into one OFFLINE community numbering some 120 residents according to 1990 census estimates while still maintaining strong ties with adjacent townships via village greens common throughout ALL OF FRANCE CRUISE TOWNSHIP - From oldest settler families right up thru today’s next generation all have contributed something special & unique about their culture or ancestry thru our many generations interactions with others living near us— THANK YOU for your INTEREST!
The village of Little Chute, Wisconsin was settled in 1838 by two families from the town of De Pere. The village was named for a small stream that ran through it. In 1851, the town of Little Chute merged with the neighboring town of Dodgeville to form the new city of Milwaukee. The name "Little Chute" was dropped from the city's name in 1954.
